Today is the day!!! We are at the University of Kentucky’s Jacobs Science Building celebrating our 2021 BE-FULL families. Their dedication and perseverance has far exceeded our highest expectations for this inaugural year, and the positive ripple within our community can already be felt!

As we prepare for our third BE-FULL session this Saturday (Financial Literacy), we can't help but reflect on how incredible our first and second sessions were.

Friends were made, things were learned, lives were changed and impromptu naps were taken (see the last picture) 😂

Shericka Smith, District Mental Health Coordinator, and Officer Sims with Fayette County Public Schools kicked off this afternoon’s Mental Health Awareness session by discussing some of the primary issues facing our kids and community.

Then Dr. Lauren Downey, Founder and Clinical Director of The TICC of Lexington, helped us recognize the threats and signs of mental health disorders.

These necessary conversations were brought to our BE-FULL families by our Mental Health Awareness Session Sponsor, Crossroads Church. Thank you for being the village!

While BE-FULL's mission is centered on elevating and inspiring, we also feel it is important to talk about the NEED that drives our purpose. Without fully grasping the disparities facing our Black Community, we can never fully take action against deep-rooted injustice or initiate long-term change. Let these numbers fuel the fight...
