In the final strides!! 😭

Aces Honor ran lights out yesterday and came so so close to returning to the winner's circle. We're very proud of his effort, esepcially considering the time and that the horse who pushed him the entire way finished next to last. AH held firm to the very end.

Aces Honor Runs Second at Churchill Downs Aces Honor ran lights out and was run down in the shadow of the wire to finish second. He has come out of the race in good shape so far.

Ahead of Aces Honor's start at Churchill Downs today, we would like to take a moment and belatedly celebrate our 20-Year anniversary of our first-ever start!

That honor is held by the aptly named Victory Morning, who was unveiled at Charles Town September 23, 2006. Since then, we've had so many incredible moments and amazing horses, and have grown to welcome so many wonderful partners that help make Pocket Aces Racing what it is!

So, as we wish a hearty good luck to the Aces Honor partnership this afternoon, we also look back with a grateful heart on the little lady who started it all!

Victory Morning Debuts a Winner - 9/23/06 In Pocket Aces Racing's first ever start, Victory Morning debuts an impressive winner.

And with this grey guy joining the crew, we are tentatively saying that he will be the last yearling we purchase at the 2026 Keeneland September sale. (We think 😅)

Taking after his (grey) sire Liam’s Map, the c**t hails from a turfy female family and is by a stallion whose offspring are as good on the lawn as they are on the main track (think multiple Grade I winner Deterministic on the grass, Burnham Square (GI winner on both surfaces) and Colonel Liam). This guy is the multiple stakes-placed broodmare’s first foal.

We swooped in to collect this beautiful Bolt d’Oro filly. She hails from three generations of stakes mares and is out of a young stakes-winning broodmare.

Tiz the Law has been collecting Group/Grade I winners on the grass like it’s going out of style lately and we picked up one of his sons earlier today. He’s got recent stakes winners on his mother’s side of the family too, and good looks to match.

We love Tiz the Law around here and we’re very excited about this guy! 🤩
