Your expertise is not the problem. Where you aimed it is. The best answer in the world does nothing if nobody is searching the question you answered.

43,856% view growth on a coaching channel in twelve months. The expertise did not change. The aim did.
This is the classic expert trap. The content was built around what the coach wanted to say, not around what their ideal client was actually typing into the search bar. Brilliant answers to questions nobody was asking out loud.
The work aligned the expertise with the demand. Same knowledge, repositioned around the exact language and questions the ideal client was already using. The content stopped talking past its audience and started meeting it where it already was.
Expertise alone does not grow a channel. Expertise aimed at real demand does.

You are answering questions brilliantly. They are just not the questions your ideal viewer is actually typing in. That gap is the whole game.

The most common advice for a struggling channel is post more. For a lot of channels, it is exactly the wrong move.
If your channel is sending the wrong signal to the algorithm, posting more just sends the wrong signal more often. You are not fixing the problem. You are scaling it, and paying for it with your time and your energy.
More content on a broken structure also buries whatever was actually working. More for the algorithm to misread, more noise around your few good signals. And the burnout is real. You exhaust yourself on the schedule you were promised would save you, then blame your effort when it does not work.
Fix the structure first. Then the content you already make starts working for you.

Your niche is the topic you cover. Your positioning is the reason someone picks you over everyone else covering it. Only one of those grows a channel.

Niche and positioning are not the same thing, and confusing them keeps a lot of good channels stuck.
Your niche is the topic you cover. Your positioning is the reason someone chooses you over the hundred other people covering that same topic. One is the subject. The other is the answer to "why you."
A niche is crowded by definition. If your only answer to "why should I watch you instead of them" is the topic itself, you have not actually answered it. Positioning is the specific angle and promise that makes your channel the obvious choice for a particular person.
It is why sharp and small routinely outgrows big and vague. If you cannot say why you in one sentence, that is the work.

Your videos are not underperforming. They are being described in a way that hides them. Those are different problems with very different fixes.

3,233% more monthly views. From a metadata rebuild. Nothing else.
No new videos. No redesign. No posting harder. The only thing that changed was how the content described itself to the algorithm.
Before, the metadata was generic. Broad titles, thin descriptions, tags that could have belonged to anyone. The algorithm had nothing precise to work with, so it guessed, and it guessed wrong. The rebuild made every field specific enough that the algorithm finally knew exactly who to show the videos to.
The reach was always possible. The videos were just described in a way that hid them.

The algorithm does not watch your video. It reads your metadata and decides who to show it to. You are writing instructions. Write them on purpose.
09/25/2026
Your metadata is not a checkbox. It is the clearest instruction you give the algorithm about who your video is for. And most channels are sending instructions they never meant to send.
The algorithm does not watch your video the way a person does. It reads your titles, descriptions, and tags, decides what the video is about, and picks a first test audience. That first audience decides almost everything that happens next.
Vague metadata means the algorithm guesses, shows your video to the wrong people, watches them click away, and quietly concludes your video is weak. Precise metadata means it tests on the right people, who stay, which it reads as strength.
You are training it either way. The only question is whether you are doing it on purpose.
