Lexington residents are slated to vote on a piece of the town’s new waste removal plan during a special election June 16. Here's what you need to know.
Arlington cut waste by 16 percent with automated bins. Lexington residents will soon vote on similar program. Opponents of Article 31 secured a referendum and it will go before residents for a vote on June 16. The motion is an initial step by the town toward implementing a new waste removal program.

Commune, a new all-day cafe, coming to Lexington Center The new eatery, owned by the owners of Turnpike Market in Billerica, will replace Lexington Liquors. It will be open until 10 p.m. and serve health-driven food for every meal.

At this year’s Discovery Day, LexObserver asked passersby to put a pin on the map to mark where they or their families came from before landing in Lexington. It turned out more colorful and complete then we imagined, with clusters around Boston, New York, India, China, Ireland, the UK, and the Middle East, and dots from Kazakhstan to Cape Town, Iceland to the Ivory Coast.
