You're Invited to the 2023 Bezos Scholar Project Showcase!!

Did you know I have been a 2023 Bezos Scholar since last April!? The Bezos Scholars Program is a yearlong leadership development program that helps young people with passion start making a difference today.

Each year, 17 high school students and an educator from each of their schools are selected from across the United States and Africa. In the program, I am supported in developing my leadership skills while being challenged to create a Community Change Project. Projects are fresh, achievable, and sustainable approaches to solving urgent problems, conceived and launched by student and educator Scholars and teams they build from their home communities.

I’ll proudly present my project, Project 80 Roots, at an upcoming virtual showcase, and I hope YOU can attend!

Date: Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Time: Presentations will start at 10:30 a.m. and wrap up around 12:00 p.m. CST.

Presentation Order: Out of six presentations that are each about 10 minutes long, I will be presenting fifth, which will be closer to 11:30 a.m.

Today was the November 4th Clean-up at the Champion-Macedonia Cemetery. Thank you to everyone for coming out to help beautify the cemetery; you are a part of history in the making! A big thank you to the Lewisville High School National Honor Society and Student Council for being such a big help, along with the Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter. It would not have been as successful if it weren't for you all!

Did you miss the event? There will be another clean-up (Date TBD) in December. Reminder: The special MLK Day clean-up and Gold Award ceremony will be on January 15, 2024.

Cemetery clean-up on October 28th from 9-12th at the Champion-Macedonia Cemetery! (1450 S Stemmons Fwy). If you or someone you know affiliates with a school, please let students know they can receive community service hours. More details are attached to the flyer, and I can't wait to see you there!

My name is Victoria Myers, a rising Senior at the School for the Talented and Gifted and a Girl Scout Ambassador, and I have a plan. Right now, I am currently fundraising to raise $20,000 dollars to implement lights, benches, new fencing, and an archway for the Champion-Macedonia cemetery in Lewisville, Texas.
