Commercial drone pilots are out working every day — shooting real estate, inspecting infrastructure, mapping land, documenting events. Most of us hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which requires passing a federal aeronautical knowledge exam and staying current on airspace rules.
If you see a drone in your area and you're curious:
✅ It's totally okay to walk over and ask what they're working on. Most pilots are happy to explain.
✅ Check for a Remote ID broadcast — FAA-compliant drones broadcast their location and registration in real time.
✅ If something genuinely seems wrong, you can report it to the FAA.

1. Check your airspace — Use the FAA's B4UFLY app before every flight. Controlled airspace requires authorization.
2. Check the weather — Wind, low clouds, and rain can turn a routine flight into a recovery mission.
3. Keep the aircraft in sight — Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) is required under Part 107 for a reason.
4. Respect people and property — Don't fly over crowds or private property without permission.
5. Pre-flight your equipment — Check batteries, props, and firmware before you ever lift off.

📡 Big changes are coming to commercial drone airspace rules — here's the plain-English version.
The FAA published a proposed rule called Part 108 in August 2025. It's designed to allow drones to fly Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) — farther than a pilot can see — without requiring a one-off waiver for every single flight. That's a big deal for infrastructure inspection, delivery, mapping, and more.
The comment period closed in October 2025 with 3,000+ responses. As of June 2026, the final rule hasn't been published yet — it's still working through the FAA's review process. We're watching it closely.
For now, all of our flights operate under FAA Part 107 — the standard commercial drone license — with full compliance and Remote ID broadcasting. Same professionalism, same results, every flight. ✅
