The July/August issue of Decoy Magazine is now in the mail. Our cover story is on Roy Conklin, a decoy maker from Alexandria Bay, New York who specialized in decorative miniature and full-sized carvings. There's an interesting editorial on a pair of goldeneyes that were recently donated to the Milwaukee Art Museum and the need to more actively promote decoys to the fine art community. Livingston "Budd" Bennett was a waterman from Cecil County, Maryland who reportedly made top-quality decoys, however, no birds have ever been attributed to his hand. For fish collectors, there's a profile on Tom Christenson of Mt. Clemens, Michigan who specializes in turtles. And there's the latest decoy show and auction reports. If you're not yet a subscriber, get in touch and we'll get your first issue in the mail.
