Shapes from the Past to the Future! I started shaping boards as a way to explore different surf crafts and to help better understand the boards I was riding.

Each board I make is drawn from inspirations I get from looking at designs from the past. I believe that the key to future surfboard designs lies in the boards that preceded them. Unlike some shapers I only shape boards that I personally ride and have a good understanding for. This ensures that I can stand by each shape I make for someone, which is something that every shaper should be able to do. Most importantly I do it to have fun and experiment, which is what keeps me stoked everyday!

One of the greatest accomplishments of my shaping career has been to work with Jay on designing his boards. Jay made me feel proud to be a shaper & it was always a joy to constantly see pictures of him tearing down the wave face on one of my boards. We will all miss that big smile, his incredible level of stoke, & the dedication he put into the sport he loved so much. Thank you Jay for the opportunity to be your shaper. Now you are finally free to surf the eternal waves with all the great surfers that have left this earth. Rest easy my friend, may we see each other again.
