As a direct action, climate responsible organization, we are the largest non-profit recycler of used athletic shoes in the United States. We partner with running stores, YMCA’s, gyms, fitness clubs/studios, churches, schools, corporations, priv

ate businesses, and running clubs across the country. MORE Foundation Group is 100% funded with recycled athletic shoes. These shoes fund our reforestation and plastic waste collection projects. All donated shoes are brought directly to our sorting center in Lewes, DE. Instead of decomposing in our landfills for 100 years, the shoes are sorted, graded, and prepared for further delivery. MORE sells the shoes to third party vendors who, in turn, distribute to local entities in developing nations to create micro economies. This process stimulates free enterprise and creates viable sources of income for families in those developing nations. And, importantly, those shoes will be reused by someone in need. Our partners display our FREE collection boxes in their establishments, allowing customers, clients, members, and employees to recycle their old athletic shoes. Each box can hold 35-45 pairs of shoes, and we have been able to plant 5 trees with every pair. Once a box is full, FedEx will pick it up and deliver it back to MORE at NO COST TO YOU. On average, a mature tree removes 48 pounds of carbon from the atmosphere every year. Thus, each full box of donated athletic shoes will lead to the removal of over 3 TONS of CARBON from the atmosphere per year. In Ghana, we continue to germinate, nurture, protect, and distribute hundreds of thousands of trees yearly - including fruit-bearing (mango, papaya, avocado) and income producing hard woods (mahogany for example) - to school nurseries and remote villages. Along with our expanding reforestation projects, we have recently begun our Clean Green Initiative. We are now harvesting and re-purposing discarded plastic. Each pair of donated shoes will also contribute to preventing plastic waste from reaching the ocean.

Earth Day 2023 is around the corner!

This is a great time to start or restart a gently used athletic shoe collection. Each donated pair contributes to ongoing reforestation projects and plastic waste "up-cycling".

The MORE program is super easy and FREE. We ship our special shoe donation boxes directly to you (they come compressed for easy storage) and pick them up when full.

Happy New Year!

We were blown away by your continued generosity throughout 2022. Every month, an average of just over 13,000 pairs of gently-worn athletic shoes were donated.

MORE plants 5 trees for every pair of gently worn athletic shoes donated. Those 5 trees will ultimately remove roughly 2 TONS of carbon over twenty years.

We will continue to establish new tree nurseries every month, each with 5,000 trees. We aim to plant another 1 million trees!

We want to thank all of our donor partners, again, for your incredible generosity.

Each month this year, an average of 13,000 pairs of gently-used athletic shoes have been donated. Every donated pair funds the planting of 5 trees. That is over 60,000 trees per month!

And next year, we intend to plant another 1 million trees!

1 pair = 5 trees = 2 TONS of carbon pulled down over 20 years.

The Dogfish Dash returns this Sunday, Sep 25!

Starting and ending at the Dogfish Head Brewery in historic Milton, DE, this road race will benefit Nature and the DE Center for the Inland Bays.

MORE will be there on registration day, Saturday, Sep 24. If you have old running shoes you don't need, please consider donating them instead of throwing them into the garbage.

Another HUGE "Thank You" to all of our donor partners!

Well over 15,000 pairs of gently used athletic shoes were donated in August. This will lead to 15 new MORE tree nurseries, each with 5,000 trees!

Another 50,000 trees being planted and protected in 10 MORE nurseries. When mature, these trees will pull down over 1,200 TONS of carbon per year. We aim to establish 10 new nurseries per month, each with 5,000 trees.
