What a wonderful way to spend the evening of World Ocean Day! Celebrating all of its infinite gifts and learning about how best to protect them! Thanks to The Listening Booth for hosting us, and thank you to our amazing volunteers who helped us set up our display!

Happy World Oceans Day to all! It's only thanks to the oceans and its creatures that we can live on land. This is a day to remind us the oceans need love and support just like every part of the planet! The photos depict a sea turtle, dolphin, seal, and whale, just some of the many magnificent creatures that are our marine neighbors ❤️ And the ones MERR happens to respond to and help!

Happy World Ocean Day one and all!! We are all so very fortunate to have this stretch of beach in our small state! On this day, what would you do to help protect it?

Happy weekend all! Just a quick note that our encore World Ocean Day screening at The Listening Booth has been "sold out". Thank you all so much for signing up for the film and we look forward to sharing it with everyone!

Did you know what you buy can make a difference? Sometimes it feels like individuals don’t have the power to make a change. As we sit at home, scrolling through various videos about current life: some good, some bad, we can forget that we DO have the ability to make a difference. A good difference! By purchasing items with these labels, you can help the planet. A MSC labeled product may mean that fish dinner was sourced without exploiting nature. A true reef safe sunscreen means less toxic chemicals washing off into the ocean and damaging the corals and sea grasses. A FSC labeled product means that item was sourced from a non clear-cut forest, and so on. These are just some labels that steer you in the right direction of being a friend of the planet 😊

On the evening of Monday, May 11, MERR responded to a deceased juvenile bottlenose dolphin that beached along the Broadkill. It was determined that it suffered injuries common to the species in which the males attempt to deter the young from being with their mother. The team arrived shortly after the call to dispose of the body before sunset.

Please call us at 302-228-5029 if you find a stranded or injured (living or deceased) marine mammal or sea turtle.
