Alternative Sentencing
Preparing detailed sentencing reports, including placement into appropriate treatment facilities, for use in criminal defense cases.
After a thorough intake and assessment, we provide individualized sentencing reports tailored for clients. These reports cover social history, education, employment, substance abuse, and mental health issues. Specific treatment recommendations are also made, including placement into residential programs, if needed. These services are free of charge to the client and attorney, and are paid for by Indigent Defense Services.

"It has been thought a considerable advance towards establishing the principles of Freedom, to say, that government is a compact
between those who govern and those that are governed: but this cannot be true, because it is putting the effect before the cause; for as man must have existed before governments existed, there necessarily was a time when governments did not exist, and consequently there could originally exist no governors
to form such a compact with. The fact therefore must be, that the individuals themselves, each in his own personal and sovereign right, entered into a compact with each other to produce a government:
and this is the only mode in which governments have a right to arise, and the only principle on which they have a right to exist."
-- Thomas Paine
"The provision in the Constitution granting the right to all persons to bear
arms is a limitation upon the power of the Legislature to enact any law to the
contrary. The exercise of a right guaranteed by the Constitution cannot be made
subject to the will of the sheriff."
-- People vs. Zerillo
