Jason Gaver
Jason Gaver is a proven community leader in Brunswick County, N.C.
Here is my after action report on the election:
The people spoke with their ballots and I unfortunately came up short.
I surely expected and anticipated a different outcome, but things didn't turn out that way and it is okay.
The race I ran was a clean one based on my foundation of service to others and our community. In reflection, I would not change the way I managed the race.
I do think my opponents put more effort into getting in front of voters - knocking on doors, holding meet and greets, making phone calls, manning the polls on Election Day, etc. I could have put more effort into these types of things. I felt my record and service in the community was enough.
I applaud all the candidates who ran in this election and other municipal races. The campaign trail is not an easy one. It takes a tremendous amount of time/effort/energy, not to mention time away from family. It can be tough to put yourself on display for others to judge you.
I want to publicly thank my family for their support. Without their backing I would not have been able to come this far.
Thank you to everyone who supported my efforts.
I'm still in the fight and will continue to be active in the community we all love.
Until next time!

Fulfilling day yesterday.
I started my morning by leading Leland VFW Post 12196 through a 9/11 commemoration ceremony. Post members, elected officials, first responders, and members of the Leland community read aloud the names of those lives lost on 9/11/2001.
We have not forgotten. We will not forget.
I ended my day with a surprise birthday celebration for my grandmothers 80th birthday.

I will be at one event today that allows me to support two organizations I have the privilege to be a part of.
The Leland Under The Lights Car Show runs from 3-8PM in the Lowe's Foods shopping Center in Brunswick Forest. I will be there supporting the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce as a board member. We have over 125 cars pre-registered - that is a record.
In my role as the Leland VFW Post 12196 Commander, I will be manning our tent at the car show. Our Post will be holding a membership drive, distributing buddy poppies in honor of veterans who lost their life in foreign wars, and we will be holding a 50/50 raffle drawing.
Swing by the VFW booth, purchase a ticket for the 50/50 and say hello.
While some of my competitors will have booths set up at the car show specifically to promote their platforms, I will be doing what I always do - supporting our community.
I look forward to continuing my service to Leland as a member of your Town Council.
