Salsa kits are ready to go home this week! Tomatoes are good to plant outdoors in our area mid-May, after the threat of a hard freeze.
Both Roma and San Marzano are determinate species. They grow in a thick bush and tomatoes will grow in clusters. Pruning "suckers" or side shoots is recommended for a maximum yield.

You are excited! You just bought your plants and eager to get them in the ground. Before you head home, swing by the $1dollar store and get yourself a few other helpful friends. Plastic snakes sometimes trick out your lurking bird friends, and protect your early starts from becoming their dinner.
