Cheryl's Practical Rejuvenation
I volunteered to create the centerpieces for our Augusta Area Newcomers monthly luncheons. Planning ahead for October, I’m playing with a twine pumpkin prototype. Our budget is only $5-$7 per table so I’ll have to be very creative! Yay or Nay?
A little before/after...playing with technique.
I found this art canvas from a company called Smallwoods. Inexpensive and easy to hang. This one pays homage to the eleven years we lived in Texas.
Keeping it “Real” this Christmas with my live $1 poinsettias!
Theirs (local design shop) and mine (repurposed yard sale find). I’m not sure of their pricing, doubtful that it’s $2.50!
Sturdy vintage chair brought back to life with chalk paint.
Yes you can chalk paint a slick surface like glass.
Before and after of my 2/$5 tag sale pots.
Dried gourds. My fall obsession.
I was looking to replace a dated round table in my family room. I was thinking outside the box when I found this great shipping drum. The patina was perfect. After a quick wipe down and addition of the glass table top I already had, mission complete. Cost...$29.00 and no painting required! BTW, did I mention the great storage inside that I’ll use for seasonal decor items?
And the chair.
This gal and her sister will be featured in the design home (Val Valdez of Revitalize Design) at the Capital Home Show in Chantilly, Va., Sept.21-23. My commissioned work includes the two tables and a pair of chairs!
A before and after lamp project. The set of lamps pictured was my inspiration. My cost was $8 including shade not $150!
My first attempt at a deconstructed chair.
Picked up these little ladies today. Stay tuned!
Good things come to those who wait. My all white bedding needed a splash of texture. I found this vintage 2x7 throw on a local yard sale site. Three dollars and a hand wash cycle later, my mission is complete!
Before and after. Gave this shiny brass drawer pull a rusty bronze finish for a vintage look.
Started with my inspiration piece...a zinc refrigerator pan!
Painting with dirt...before and after.
Fine art using chalk paint!
Snow day creation.
My $5 clock makeover is complete!
Sometimes it's about the absence of color.
Keeping my Fall dining room decor simple. A galvanized chicken feeder filled with dried gourds.
A little Fall is in the air!
Picked these up a few years back for $5. I had no idea what they were. Thanks Country Living for solving the mystery!
I'm offering a two hour chalk painting session to help you get started. Cost is $50. My home or yours. No need to spend over $100 to learn the basics. I have references from satisfied students. Message me if interested!
