I volunteered to create the centerpieces for our Augusta Area Newcomers monthly luncheons. Planning ahead for October, I’m playing with a twine pumpkin prototype. Our budget is only $5-$7 per table so I’ll have to be very creative! Yay or Nay?

I found this art canvas from a company called Smallwoods. Inexpensive and easy to hang. This one pays homage to the eleven years we lived in Texas.

I was looking to replace a dated round table in my family room. I was thinking outside the box when I found this great shipping drum. The patina was perfect. After a quick wipe down and addition of the glass table top I already had, mission complete. Cost...$29.00 and no painting required! BTW, did I mention the great storage inside that I’ll use for seasonal decor items?

This gal and her sister will be featured in the design home (Val Valdez of Revitalize Design) at the Capital Home Show in Chantilly, Va., Sept.21-23. My commissioned work includes the two tables and a pair of chairs!

Good things come to those who wait. My all white bedding needed a splash of texture. I found this vintage 2x7 throw on a local yard sale site. Three dollars and a hand wash cycle later, my mission is complete!
