A blessing for our community. A promise of safety for every child.
On March 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM, we will gather at Canal Street Fire Station (Station 61) for the official blessing and dedication of our Safe Haven Baby Box.
This life-saving resource provides a safe, anonymous option for parents in crisis — ensuring that every child has a chance at life and a future filled with hope.
This project is the result of true community partnership. I’m especially grateful to the Leesburg Sunrise Rotary, whose initiative and leadership helped bring this vision to life. Their heart for service, along with the dedication of our City of Leesburg team, our Fire Department, community partners, and generous supporters, made this possible.

Saturday Pump Day 🔥
This morning our members headed out to the Sleepy Hollow complex for some big water drills. Master streams are a vital tool during large defensive operations, and today’s focus was on reverse lays, maximizing hydrants, and moving as much water as possible.
Engine 62 demonstrated just that—by triple tapping the hydrant, they were able to supply over 2,000 gallons per minute.

LFD is currently collecting performance times for essential fireground skills. These times are being averaged to establish departmental standards that all members—both new candidates and current firefighters—are expected to meet and maintain.
Today’s evaluation focused on single-firefighter forcible entry through an inward-swinging door. This initiative reflects LFD’s commitment to upholding high standards of proficiency, ensuring our firefighters are prepared to perform effectively and safely in the field.
