Join us on Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM as we honor and celebrate the incredible history of Douglass High School, Loudoun County's first and only Black high school from 1941-1968. This special day will be filled with joy, remembrance, and community spirit!
Discover a variety of amusements, educational experiences, live entertainment, local food trucks, community vendors, hands-on activities and crafts, and so much more. Plus, donโt miss out on all the childrenโs activities, including a petting zoo, moon bounces, face painting, balloon animals, and more!

Media Release: Leesburg Police Department Hosts National Night Out
The Leesburg Police Department and the Douglass Community Center, are excited to invite community members to participate in National Night Out 2024, a nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event will occur on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center playground.
National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for residents to meet and interact with Leesburg police officers, local first responders, and community organizations. This event aims to strengthen relationships and build a safer, more united community.

TIME: 6:00 p.m. โ 8:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Douglass Community Center playground โ 407 E. Market Street Leesburg
Activities Include:
- Meet and greet with Leesburg police officers and first responders
- Free food and refreshments
- Fun activities for children
- Safety demonstrations & static displays
- Representation from community organizations including Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, Loudoun County Public Library, Rust Library, Town of Leesburg, Virginia, The Arc of Loudoun, Department of Family Services, Loudoun Literacy Council, Girls on the Run, LAWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services, and many more.
Chief of Police Thea Pirnat stated, โNational Night Out is a special event that brings our community together. Itโs another chance for us to connect with residents in a positive environment, and for everyone to learn more about the efforts weโre making to ensure Leesburg remains a safe place to live, work, and play.โ
National Night Out is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in August in neighborhoods across the country. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It also provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Monday FUN-DAY is on as scheduled this morning. The foam and water fun will start at 10:00 a.m. Beginning at 10:45 a.m., we will have the moon bounces, cup stacks, etc. inside the gym.
