Did you get a CEU in worker power this year at VABA? Workers at Compass Behavioral Group organized a rally to call on CEO Jonathan Weaber to sign a fair contract. RBTs and Behavior Techs are the backbone of our industry, but their voice is often ignored. Today, they made themselves loud and clear! We were joined by Virginia Senator Stella Pekarsky (Chair of the Virginia Autism Advisory Council), delegate Elizabeth Guzmán, and labor leaders and union siblings at SEIU, AFT, and IBEW. Dr. Megan Kirby gave the workers a special shout out during her presentation on the History of Behavior Analysis and Non-Violent Resistance 👏 ❤️

If Bellefaire JCB doesn't respect its workers, how much respect could they have for those they serve?
After declaring they'd no longer recognize - the agency left the staff without breaks, dangerous ratios, busted walkers, and pregnant workers using crisis management techniques. Kalynn, a staff member at Bellefaire JCB, is helping to rally her coworkers to make the company - which made $43.4 million in revenue last year - treat them with the respect they deserve.
You can't take care of vulnerable kids while grinding down the staff who show up for them. Their learning conditions are our working conditions.
Tell to respect its workers. Call CEO Jeffrey Lox at 216-402-5534 to demand he recognize their union.

It's time unionized - like our allies in education, nursing, and other healthcare fields. Collective action and collective bargaining is the only way to bring a reality. Our working conditions are our client's learning conditions. bcba
