Congratulations Rondo!!!!

๐Ÿˆ ATH RONDO JOHNSON โ€“ CMFL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Written by Coach C โ€“ SemiPro GameDay

Most know him simply as Rondo.

His teammates call him Agent Zero.

But after what we witnessed this past Saturday, I think it's time the entire Central Midwest Football League starts calling him something else.....

The Most Electrifying Man in the CMFL.

In the biggest rivalry game of the season, under the bright lights of the first-ever Fountain City Classic, Rondo Johnson delivered a performance that reminded everyone why he is one of the most dangerous athletes in semi-pro football.

The Kansas City Bulldogs entered the matchup as underdogs against the heavily favored Kansas City Panthers. Many expected the Panthers to continue their dominance and strengthen their playoff positioning.

Rondo Johnson had other plans.

Johnson exploded offensively, piling up 104 total yards and a touchdown, while also contributing on multiple crucial two-point conversions that helped fuel one of the biggest upsets of the 2026 season.

Every time the Bulldogs needed a spark, Johnson provided it.

Every time momentum seemed ready to swing, Johnson made a play.

Every time the Panthers looked poised to seize control, Johnson answered.

But what makes his performance even more impressive is that his impact extended far beyond the offensive side of the football.

While most fans will remember the explosive plays and highlight-reel moments, those who watched closely saw Johnson putting in work on defense as well. Lining up at cornerback, he played a major role in helping limit one of the CMFL's most explosive attacks.

The Panthers struggled to find rhythm through the air, and Johnson's versatility, athleticism, and football IQ were on full display throughout the contest.

That is what separates great players from special players.

Special players don't just affect one side of the ball.

They affect the entire game.

And that's exactly what Rondo Johnson did.

As we move closer toward the postseason, don't be surprised if Johnson's name begins appearing in more and more award conversations. Whether it's All-CMFL honors, Player of the Year discussions, or making a major impact during the upcoming Victory Bowl, his stock is rising rapidly.

In fact, I'll go one step further.

Rondo Johnson is a Top 3 talent in the entire CMFL.

Not top three at his position.

Not top three among athletes.

Top three overall.

Period.

When the lights are brightest and the moment is biggest, the best players find a way to rise above everyone else.

This past Saturday, Rondo Johnson did exactly that.

Congratulations once again to Rondo Johnson of the Kansas City Bulldogs, your CMFL Player of the Week.

๐Ÿฅ‹ THE COACH C CAT DADDY REPORT โ€“ WEEK 8 ๐Ÿฅ‹

Written by Coach C | SemiPro GameDay

Final week of the 13th season of the CMFL, and this last weekend of matchups is sure to be emotional, fierce, and a sigh of relief for some of our favorite teams.

I want to give a special shoutout to both Kansas City Panthers Head Coach Jimmie Ross and Kansas Diamondbacks Head Coach Tyrone Jones, who are coaching in their final regular-season home games this weekend. Thank you both for all the lives you have touched and all of the blood, sweat, and tears you put into building those historic programs.

With that said, we have an awesome slate of games that will surely affect the playoffs. So enough talkingโ€”let's get to the games!

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ

Oklahoma Hawks
at Arkansas Warcats

Despite their records, I expect this game to be a very good one between these teams. While both teams have issues with numbers, I salute both of them for finishing the season strong and not folding or forfeiting any games.

Between the two, I think the Warcats have just a bit more firepower to get it done in a tight one.

Gimme the Warcats!

๐Ÿ”ฎ 27-20 Warcats

Columbia Vipers
at ECMO Eagles

In another game featuring teams looking for their first on-field win, I don't think this one will be much of a contest.

The Eagles survived possibly the most daunting schedule in the league without folding or forfeiting. The young Vipers squad had one forfeit on the season.

I think the Eagles will be okay going into the offseason through addition by subtraction and by getting rid of the cancers that changed the team's hardhat culture.

I like the Birds in this one.

๐Ÿ”ฎ 34-13 Eagles

#8 Wichita Skyhawks
at #10 Kansas Diamondbacks

In what could be the final game ever for the Diamondbacks, they face crosstown rival Wichita Skyhawks in a game that will determine the fourth seed in the Great Plains.

This game could be spicy but respectful given the circumstances. I think if the Diamondbacks can keep it close, they have a shot. But The Goons, fresh off a one-point loss to the number-one team in the league, are going to be too much and punch their ticket to the playoffs.

Nighty Nite, We Take Flight!

๐Ÿ”ฎ 26-13 Skyhawks

#9 Kansas City Bulldogs
at #5 Kansas City Panthers

"The Fountain City Classic"

Given what happened in the Falcons game, you would think the Bulldogs could put up a good fight against the Panthers. But rumors of a good portion of the team quitting are never good. I hope that is not the case here, but we shall see.

Now this Panthers team is angry and ready to put on a show and clinch the number-one seed in the Gateway.

With that said...

They Bang, They Ball,
Sending them boys back to fall...

Panthers in Fo'.

๐Ÿ”ฎ 35-14 Panthers

๐Ÿšจ Upset Special ๐Ÿšจ

#7 Missouri Cyclones
at #4 St. Louis Falcons

"The Battle for the Lou"

This may very well be the game that leaves everyone wanting more.

The Falcons and their Street Sweeper offense come rolling, and it seems like once they get started, it is hard to stop 2026 MVP candidate QB Justin Baker and those speedy wide receivers.

The thing that worries me is that the Falcons defense has given up 40 points in two of its last three games and allowed the Eagles to score a season high.

We gonna start calling them the Pop-Tart Defense if they keep being this soft in the middle!

With that said, they're not stopping star RB Cliff Chandler, who is closing in on 1,000 yards on the season, especially if the Demolition Crew offensive line gets going.

Get that money ready, YNs, because THE RENT'S DUE!

I'm taking the Clones!

๐Ÿ”ฎ 38-24 Clones

โญ๏ธ CMFL Game of the Week

"The Game" Part 1

#3 Joplin Crusaders
at #6 Oklahoma Bears

The first installment of this series pits two rivals who do not like each other at all in a showdown for home-field advantage in the playoffs.

The Crusaders come in with 2026 MVP candidate QB Aason Cross and the Fastest Show on Turf, who have been putting up amazing numbers all season long and look to continue that here.

Cross needs this game to lose the stigma that he can only roll up lesser teams.

Defensively, the Crusaders defense has allowed the fewest points in the league and will have to step up big time to stop that Bears rushing attack, which I think is going to get steamrolling moving forward.

If they hold the Bears below 100 rushing yards as a team, they have this one in the bag.

BUT NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!

The Bears, in the SPGD Era, have only lost once at home, and they will not be doing that in this one.

Look for that rushing attack behind RBs Terrell Buchanan and Tae Moore to get rolling, with QBs Garrett Griffith and Devin White keeping the defense honest in both the passing and running game.

Watch for star DE Devin Colbert Sr. and The Gold Standard Defense to destroy the Cru up front and make tonight a long night for Aason Cross.

LB LeAndre Turner and Tyrone Elix plan on setting up shop in that backfield and making themselves real comfortable.

I just think the Bears are going to be too physical up front, although that one loss I mentioned before did come to the Crusaders...

With that said, there ain't no Hitman to save them this time...

GIMME MY COACH COX SHADES!!!!!!

The Bears begin their run to the title game in this one!!!

๐Ÿ”ฎ 32-20 Bears

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ

Rivalry Weekend 2026 will be one to remember!

Until next time, fellas!!!

๐Ÿ† Coach C's CMFL Power Poll โ€“ Week 8

Written by Coach C โ€“ SemiPro GameDay

After a long, grueling regular season filled with statement victories, heartbreaking losses, championship aspirations, and playoff drama, we have finally arrived at Week 8โ€”the final week of the 2026 CMFL regular season.

For some teams, the postseason is already within reach. For others, one final opportunity remains to leave their mark on the season.

The playoff picture is nearly complete. The Tulsa Gators have secured the top spot in the Great Plains Division after an undefeated campaign, while the Kansas City Panthers currently sit atop the Gateway Division. The St. Joe Bucks and St. Louis Falcons remain within striking distance, but they will need some help from the Kansas City Bulldogs this weekend if they hope to gain ground in the Points Against tiebreaker race.

One final weekend remains before the road to the championship begins.

Here is the final regular-season edition of Coach C's CMFL Power Poll.

1. Tulsa Gators

7-0 ๐Ÿ”ฅโœ…๏ธโ†”๏ธ

The Gators survived one of their toughest tests of the season, escaping Newton with a hard-fought 19-18 victory over the Wichita Skyhawks to complete a perfect regular season.

As they have all year, Tulsa leaned on its championship-caliber defense. Linebacker Austyn Romine delivered a monster performance with 17 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks, while defensive tackle DeMarco Hubbard helped anchor a defensive unit that once again rose to the occasion when it mattered most.

The Gators now enter the postseason as the undisputed kings of the Great Plains.

2. St. Joe Bucks

6-1 ๐Ÿฅ‹โœ…๏ธโ†”๏ธ

The Program Killas added another victim to an already impressive rรฉsumรฉ, dismantling the Kansas City Bulldogs 44-14 in one of the most dominant performances of Week 7.

MVP candidate Keante Green was spectacular once again, accounting for five total touchdownsโ€”four through the air and one on the ground. Wide receiver Garyeon Simpson continued his explosive season with two long touchdown receptions, while running back Cade Chapell turned a screen pass into a 28-yard score.

With road victories over several top contenders and one of the strongest rรฉsumรฉs in the league, the Bucks continue to make their case as a legitimate championship threat.

3. Joplin Crusaders

6-1 ๐Ÿฅ‹โ†”๏ธ

The Crusaders wasted no time making a statement, overwhelming the Oklahoma Hawks 71-0 in one of the most lopsided victories of the season.

Quarterback Aason Cross was nearly unstoppable, throwing six touchdown passes before halftime as Joplin's offense turned the game into a track meet.

Now the focus shifts to one of the league's premier rivalries as the Crusaders prepare for Part One of their highly anticipated two-game showdown with the Oklahoma Bears.

4. St. Louis Falcons

Record: 6-1 ๐Ÿฅ‹โ†”๏ธ

In my Mike Epps voice...

"Somebody please call 911!"

Because the Switch Boyzz absolutely ran wild on the ECMO Eagles in a 76-22 offensive explosion.

Multi-dimensional superstar DeAndre Jones put together one of the most impressive individual performances of the season, finishing with three touchdowns, two interceptions, and three tackles.

The Falcons continue to prove they possess one of the most dangerous offenses in the CMFL heading into the postseason.

5. Kansas City Panthers

Record: 6-1 โ†”๏ธ

The Black Kats enjoyed a bye week while keeping a close eye on the playoff race.

With the regular-season finale now in front of them, all attention turns to the Fountain City Classic against their crosstown rival, the Kansas City Bulldogs.

The Panthers currently control their own destiny in the Gateway Division and remain one of the most complete teams in the league.

6. Oklahoma Bears

Record: 5-2 ๐Ÿฅ‹โ†”๏ธ

The Bears handled business exactly as expected, rolling past the Kansas Diamondbacks by a score of 54-8.

The victory keeps Oklahoma firmly among the CMFL's elite while setting the stage for one of the most anticipated matchups of the season.

Next up is "The Game" against longtime rival Joplinโ€”a matchup that could serve as a preview of much bigger battles still to come.

7. Missouri Cyclones

Record: 5-2 ๐Ÿฅ‹โ†”๏ธ

The Big Bros reminded everyone exactly who runs the household, cruising to a convincing 48-6 victory over the Columbia Vipers.

The Cyclones continue to play some of their best football at the right time and enter the postseason with momentum firmly on their side.

With a physical defense and explosive playmakers, Missouri remains a dangerous matchup for anyone in the playoff field.

8. Wichita Skyhawks

Record: 3-4 โœ…๏ธโฌ†๏ธ

The Skyhawks may have come up one point short, but they earned plenty of respect in a narrow 19-18 battle against the undefeated Tulsa Gators.

For much of the afternoon, Wichita controlled the pace and looked poised to pull off the upset of the season before Tulsa escaped late.

Now everything comes down to one final showdown against crosstown rival Kansas Diamondbacks with the fourth and final Great Plains playoff berth hanging in the balance.

9. Kansas City Bulldogs

Record: 4-3 โœ…๏ธ๐Ÿšฎ

The Bulldogs showed flashes of the talent that has made them one of the league's most intriguing teams, but they simply could not keep pace with the St. Joe Bucks in a 44-14 defeat.

Wide receiver and athlete Rondo Johnson continued to shine, while running backs Jay'Shon Ellis and Mario Vasquez provided additional bright spots.

While the loss severely damaged their playoff hopes, an opportunity remains to play spoiler and shock the league in the Fountain City Classic against the Kansas City Panthers.

10. Kansas Diamondbacks

Record: 3-4 โœ…๏ธ๐Ÿšฎ

The Diamondbacks were overwhelmed by a strong Oklahoma Bears squad, falling 54-8.

Fortunately, the loss does not eliminate their postseason dreams.

Everything now comes down to one game.

Standing between Kansas and a potential playoff berth are the Wichita Skyhawks in what amounts to a playoff game before the playoffs. Win, and the dream stays alive. Lose, and the season comes to an end.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Final Whistle

It has all led to this.

One final weekend. One final opportunity. One final chance to improve playoff position, secure a postseason berth, or finish the season with pride.

Some teams are preparing for championship runs. Others are fighting to keep their seasons alive. Rivalries will be renewed, playoff seeds will be finalized, and for a few teams, the final chapter of the 2026 season will be written.

The regular season is almost over.

The postseason is almost here.

Welcome to Week 8.

QB1 Keante Green Named CMFL Player of the Week

Written by Coach C โ€“ SemiPro GameDay

There are great performances, and then there are statement performances.

St. Joe Bucks quarterback Keante Green delivered exactly that in the final week of the 2026 regular season, earning Central Midwest Football League Player of the Week honors after leading the Bucks to a dominant 44-14 victory over the Kansas City Bulldogs.

With the playoffs on the horizon and championship aspirations growing stronger by the week, Green once again showed why he has become one of the most feared offensive weapons in the CMFL.

The veteran signal-caller put together a spectacular all-around performance, completing 16 of 21 passes for 378 yards and five touchdown passes. Time and time again, Green stretched the Bulldogs' defense to its breaking point with his accuracy, decision-making, and ability to attack every level of the field.

Among the highlights were two explosive touchdown connections with "The Bear Killer" Garyeon Simpson, who found the end zone on scoring strikes of 52 and 36 yards. Green also connected with running back Cade Chapell on a perfectly executed 28-yard screen pass for a touchdown and found wide receiver Jaden King for a 14-yard score as part of the offensive onslaught.

As impressive as Green was through the air, he proved equally dangerous with his legs.

The dynamic quarterback shredded the Bulldogs on the ground for 113 rushing yards and added another touchdown, consistently extending plays and punishing defenders who failed to account for his mobility. His dual-threat ability kept the Bulldogs off balance all night and was a major factor in one of the Bucks' most complete offensive performances of the season.

By the time the final whistle sounded, Green had accounted for 491 total yards of offense and five total touchdowns in a performance that could only be described as MVP caliber.

Week after week, Keante Green has demonstrated the leadership, production, and playmaking ability required of an elite quarterback. Many around the league consider him the best quarterback in the CMFL this season, and performances like this only strengthen that argument.

As the Bucks prepare for the postseason, they do so with confidence knowing their QB1 is playing some of the best football of his career.

Congratulations to Keante Green, your Central Midwest Football League Player of the Week.
