BIG NEWS. SENIOR TAX FREEZE Jackson Country:

I was able to confirm with the Director of Collections that if your taxes go DOWN in 2025 as a result of the STC Order, you WILL NOT need to re-apply for the Senior Tax Freeze.

You will be automatically “frozen” at the new lower amount for future years.

So, if you’ve applied and been approved, no additional application is necessary.

Good news for Jackson Co residents.

Judge rules for State Tax Commission, against Jackson County in property tax assessment lawsuit The county sued, challenging an STC order capping residential property value increases at 15%.

In Jackson co, if you are 62 or older you can send an application to the county to freeze your property taxes to 2024 tax amount. Link below:
