GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is on the world stage for the World Cup! Did you know we helped leave a creative touch at Arrowhead?

LAND3 Studio provided irrigation design services for Arrowhead. The irrigation system maintained all the exterior planting upgrades surrounding the stadium.

Working with Populous, the final 2-Wire irrigation system included 98 zones spread over 3 primary planting groups. The irrigation system is remotely operated and used low-water use spray heads and drip lines.

Flashback Friday to our 2010 Hodge Park project!

LAND3 Studio led the development of improvements for the North athletic complex at Hodge Park.

The complex includes multi-use softball / baseball fields, rugby / lacrosse / football multi-purpose fields, a destination playground, shelter, restrooms, and utility services for the improvements. With Kansas City, MO growing around Hodge Park, these improvements position the park to provide needed amenities to the City’s northland. Central to the improvements is a Destination Playground. Utilizing site grade changes, the playground offers three terraces of play. Themed as “Hodge Fort, children “storm the fort,” playing up and down the hills toward a major play structure at the top-most terrace.

Throwback Thursday to the Farmers Park development in City of Springfield, MO!

Working with Hufft and the Developer Matt O’Reilly, LAND3 provided Planning, Site Development, Planting and Irrigation design for the sustainably focused mixed-use project in Springfield, Missouri. Integrating office, retail, and residential uses into a sustainable framework creates a dynamic urban environment that centers on the primary farmers market in the Springfield, Missouri region. LAND3 shaped a Low-Impact Development framework that integrates water quality & re-use, recycling of materials, system efficiencies and universal access into the built environment.

Throwback Thursday as soccer is all the rage these days in KC!

Kansas City Soccer Village at Swope Park

In 2013, LAND3 Studio teamed with Olsson and Wellner Architects to provide design, documentation and construction observation services for the new Kansas City Soccer Village at Swope Park. Spread over 40 acres along the northern boundaries of Swope Park, the soccer village includes five new full size synthetic soccer fields and one high performance USGA base “Championship” natural bluegrass field. Each field was designed to include a championship size soccer field but also organized to accommodate multiple overlay fields for youth soccer ranging from U-6 to U-12.

Several amenity plaza spaces are located throughout the village. LAND3 led the programming efforts to accommodate vendors, event spaces and multi-use spaces. LAND3 also provided design services for field and landscape irrigation, fencing and landscape plantings.

Throwback Thursday- Eglin AFB Hospital 🏥

Working again with Architects, LAND3 provided full landscape architectural services for several existing hospital expansions and new facilities. This Design Build pursuit with Hoefer Welker and JE Dunn General Contractors includes landscape design, site amenity programming and design and irrigation design. The new Troop Medical Clinic is slated for LEED Silver status with LAND3 developing and documenting the performance and specifications for a 100% Reclaimed Water Irrigation System served by roof and AC unit condensate.

ATFP (Anti Terrorism and Force Protection) requirements are reflected in the landscape design with clear visual sightlines, parking lot offsets and layered landscape zones radiating away from the building. JE Dunn Construction
