RCC Weekly Newsletter - June 23, 2026 When the master in Jesus’s parable gave talents to his servants and went away, two got busy multiplying their master’s money, and one hid his talent in the dirt. Something similar can happen when people like us hear about the providence of God.

06/19/2026

This Sunday we will gather to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and look intently into His Word together! In Genesis 40, Joseph has been unjustly imprisoned in Egypt. God displays His providential care of Joseph as he is elevated to a trusted position with the prison guard to monitor Pharaoh's prisoners. However, Joseph's situation is still one of a slave and a convicted criminal. On the surface, it is hard to see how anything good will come out of this. However, a turning point is reached when Pharaoh's chief cupbearer and baker are imprisoned with Joseph. One night, both of these men dream similar dreams about their future and discuss them with Joseph. Through God's imparted wisdom, Joseph interprets these dreams for them. He explains that the cupbearer will be restored to his position in three days, while the baker will be executed. Both interpretations are fulfilled exactly as Joseph said, demonstrating that God is with Joseph and that He is the source of wisdom and revelation. Although Joseph asks the restored cupbearer to remember him before Pharaoh, the cupbearer forgets him, leaving Joseph to continue waiting on God's timing and trusting in His faithful providence.

As you look forward to worshipping with the body of Christ on Sunday, take time to read the Scriptures intentionally ahead of time. Ask God to prepare your heart to receive His Word as well as give you the grace to walk in obedience to it as it is proclaimed.

Benediction: Numbers 6:24-26

06/12/2026

This Sunday we will gather to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and look intently into His Word together! In Genesis 39, we rejoin Joseph as he is taken as a slave to Egypt. He begins serving in Potiphar's home and succeeds in all that he does for him. This is not a tribute to Joseph, but to the Lord who is with him. However, his great success is also met with great temptation. When Potiphar's wife repeatedly tries to seduce him, Joseph refuses out of his awareness of God's presence and and a commitment to God's ways. After she falsely accuses him, Joseph is thrown into prison. At this point, it appears that everything is lost for Joseph. What little hope he had of rising above injustice and suffering seems to be buried and gone. However, the Lord remains present with him, granting him favor and responsibility. In the end, God proves to be faithful to His people in all circumstances so they can walk in integrity regardless of the circumstances.

As you look forward to worshipping with the body of Christ on Sunday, take time to read the Scriptures intentionally ahead of time. Ask God to prepare your heart to receive His Word as well as give you the grace to walk in obedience to it as it is proclaimed.
