Hey Everybody! We have a couple of our agents going out to the Ability Summit at the Overland Park Convention Center this weekend, Saturday the 9th from 10:00am - 4:00pm.

This event is for the disabled community and we will be there to speak to people about financial planning, special needs planning, estate planning, and ABLE Act accounts.

Mark A. Gash

Recently, the Managing Partner of Summit Pointe Financial, Chris Heckadon, and Director of Operations, Kevin Kemmerer, had the honor of attending the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Awards Celebration at the beautiful Nelson-Atkins Museum Auditorium in Kansas City.
As a proud Corporate Partner, Summit Pointe Financial once again sponsored the prestigious Ken B. Jones Award, the MIAA’s highest honor, presented annually to the top female and male student-athletes of the academic year. Named after the Association’s first full-time Commissioner, the award recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, and character.
Chris and Kevin were honored to take the stage and present this year’s awards to two outstanding student-athletes:
Katie DeGarmo of Fort Hays State University, a basketball standout who earned this distinction for the second consecutive year, and
Tyler Kahmann of Emporia State University, a consensus First Team All-American wide receiver who was recently signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts.
Accepting the award on Tyler’s behalf were Emporia State Head Coach Garin Higgins and Wide Receivers Coach Bryce Chavis.
Congratulations to Katie, Tyler, and all the remarkable student-athletes recognized that evening. We’re proud to support the future leaders of tomorrow through the MIAA.

We want to give a big shout out to Truman, son of our Estate and Tax Planning Attorney, Jason L. Moehlman here at SPTF for his promotion to Yellow Belt in Judo. It is a great example of what hard work and dedication can do; one of the many lessons taught by Steve Scott, Truman's Judo instructor. Please take a moment and congratulate Truman, and make sure to reach out to Jason for any of your Estate or Tax Planning Needs.

Onward and Upward

We want to recognize five of our amazing associates for sponsoring the Evergreen Community of Johnson County Holiday Staff Party this year: Mark A. Gash, Ian J. Trembly, Stephen White, Bill Regan, and Wendall Kennedy. They were kind enough to provide lunch as Evergreen's staff celebrated the holiday season together. Give these men a pat on the back if you see them!

This past Thursday, our very own Mark A. Gash was the keynote speaker at the Olathe Kansas Volunteer Reception and was surprised with the Nancy Quinlisk Chandler Volunteer Award for his 20+ of service. Mark has also been honored to receive the Cathedral Builder Award from Mayor Copeland and the Buck O'Neil seat by the KC Royals for his service with the disabled and senior communities. Please help us in congratulating Mark on his continued impressive achievements and involvement in the community. We are very proud to have Mark as a part of our company!
