Tested the GFCI outlet today…
Pressed the test button and the reset button launched across the room.
I’ve seen outlets trip before.
Never seen one eject a passenger.
Just another normal day doing home inspections.
Today’s inspection feature:
An antenna chained to the chimney liner…
Literally pulling it apart.
The chimney crown is shattered.
Gaps wide open into the flue.
This isn’t “normal wear.”
This is slow-motion structural surrender.
Always look up.
Chimney looked solid.
Flashing?
Not sealed. Not layered properly. Not doing its job.
Water doesn’t need a big opening.
Just one bad detail.

This is the house growing something it shouldn’t.
Always check the attic.

Skins hanging from the floor joists.
Nothing like realizing the basement has more residents than the upstairs. 🐍
Home inspections aren’t always pretty… but somebody’s gotta look.
Bathroom exhaust fan venting straight into the attic… duct clogged with insulation… so now the moisture is just trapped upstairs like it pays rent. 💀
Somewhere between DIY confidence and a future insurance claim… this light fixture is just hanging on by vibes.
You’re looking at the Next-Gen Temporary Permanent Solution.
Designed to look finished, engineered to fail later.
Welcome to building homes in 2026.

Missing plumbing boots, mold-like growth, and moisture doing whatever it wants.
The house looks fine… until it doesn’t. 💀
Flipped homes can look perfect — but indoor air quality doesn’t show up in photos.
We regularly find mold growth inside furnace-mounted humidifiers that were overlooked during renovations. These units sit in dark, damp conditions and can impact air quality when not properly serviced.
This is one reason mold testing is a smart recommendation on flipped homes. It’s not about killing deals — it’s about giving buyers clear information and avoiding surprises after closing.
