In the meantime, I had to share these sweet photos from a fall session with some longtime clients I absolutely adore. If I remember right… we probably spent as much time catching up after their session as we did actually taking photos. 🤍

Normally I’m way more organized about giving you a heads up, but being sick threw me off my game a little. 😅

Getting your photo taken is VULNERABLE!

I was reminded of this yesterday as I met up with a group of my photographer buds to exchange headshots. These are all supportive, talented women, who I know want the best for me, and yet my anxiety was SKY HIGH. On the drive over the thought hit me "what if I didn't even know the person taking my photos....how much worse would that be?" 😬

And so that's really the purpose of this corner of social media - a place where you can get to know me, so that when you are vulnerable enough to get your photos taken, you'll be sure, not just that you like my work, but that you like me. And if you don't, that's ok...there's someone out there for you! 😉 ✌🏼

Spring is calling!! 🌸
I’m already dreaming about sessions with these early blooming trees, and if the timing works out, they’ll likely be my first spring offering!

They bloom fast (usually late March), so that’s likely what we’ll shoot for. I’m considering one full session and a few minis, but before I lock anything in, I’d love your input.

One of the most unexpected gifts of our big move has been how often I still get to travel back to the DC area. I honestly assumed that after a few years, that chapter would naturally close. Instead, families like this one keep inviting me back to document their lives, and that means more to me than I can put into words

Watching clients grow year after year, who eventually feel more like longtime family friends, is hands down my favorite part of this work. I love building relationships, learning your rhythms, and telling your story in a way that feels honest and personal, because the longer I get to know you, the better I can do that.

And now I’m seeing that same kind of connection take root here in Kansas City, which feels incredibly special.

A sweet December day with this family of 4 was a perfect way to end my 2025! Arthur was a perfect gentleman and his big sister kept me busy with a lot of hide and seek!
