Two years ago, I made the hardest decision of my life. After years of trying to make it work, I chose to separate from my children’s father. It wasn’t just a break-up; it was a full-blown life shift that meant, at 31 years old, I had to move back in with my parents—with two kids under 5. It was humbling, painful, and honestly, a reality I never thought I’d be living.

For 4 months, I was trying to figure out what the next chapter of my life would look like. I had lost the vision of who I was outside of being a mom and partner, and I was carrying the weight of guilt and doubt. My kids were everything to me, but I knew deep down, staying in that situation wouldn’t serve them—or me—in the long run.

What I came to realize during that time, through all the chaos, sleepless nights, and tears, was that I wasn’t just doing this for me. I was doing it for them. My kids deserved a mom they could brag about. A mom who didn’t settle, who had the strength to choose her own happiness so that they could grow up knowing what it looks like to take care of yourself.

I had to find the courage to show them that even when life knocks you down, you don’t just stay there. You get back up, you work on yourself, and you grow. I wanted them to see that it’s okay to choose hard things if it means choosing yourself.

Now, as a single mom, I’m focused on becoming the woman they deserve to look up to. I’m building a life where they can say, “My mom is strong. My mom is brave. My mom never gave up on herself or on us.” It’s not about perfection; it’s about showing them resilience, strength, and the willingness to start over if it means creating a better life.

Every workout, every healthy meal, every decision I make to grow into the best version of me—it’s all for them. Because they deserve a mom who leads by example and shows them what self-worth looks like in real time.

Mamas, if you’re going through your own struggles, just know that doing the hard things is worth it. Your kids are watching, learning, and growing with you. And you owe it to yourself—and to them—to be the mom they’ll be proud to brag about. 💪❤️
