**PLANNED SERVICE CHANGE**
Occurring July 7, 2026

The City of Lebanon has announced that Lebanon has been selected as an official whistle stop for one of the most iconic trains in American history!

On Tuesday, July 7, from 12:35 PM to 1:20 PM, Union Pacific's legendary Big Boy No. 4014—the world's largest operating steam locomotive—will make a special stop in Lebanon as part of a historic coast-to-coast journey commemorating America's 250th Anniversary.

This once-in-a-lifetime tour is a collaboration between Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern and features not only the famous Big Boy, but also several historic passenger cars from Union Pacific's Heritage Fleet, along with two commemorative locomotives: No. 1616 Abraham Lincoln and No. 1776 America 250.

To celebrate this extraordinary occasion, the City of Lebanon will host a community celebration honoring our nation's rich railroad heritage and the role trains played in shaping communities like Lebanon.

To support this celebration, Lebanon Transit will deviate its Route 17 bus, beginning at 9:00am and ending at 3:00pm.

Route 17 Planned Service Change - Inbound:

From Cumberland Street
Right onto Lincoln Avenue
Left onto Schneider Drive
Left onto 4th Street
Right onto Willow Street
Right onto 8th Street
Left onto C&L Street
Left onto 10th Street
Left onto Willow Street
Back to 7th & Willow Transfer Station

Normal fare of $1.75 will be charged. Lebanon Transit reminds riders that exact change is required when paying with cash on board vehicles.

**PLEASE NOTE** Route 17 is NOT a special shuttle exclusive for the Big Boy event. This is a planned detour. Route 17 remains open to all riders and will operate as flag stop. All other bus routes will operate normally. Local residents and visitors to the area are encouraged to utilize Lebanon Transit’s other bus routes, all of which begin and end at the 7th & Willow Transfer Station, just a short walk to the train tracks at the Lebanon YMCA.

Lebanon Transit will raise fares across both divisions for the first time in more than a dozen years. The change will take effect July 1, 2026. Fare increases will ensure Lebanon Transit continues to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient public transportation in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner.

🔴 Please note the update! Senior Fare will increase to $3.00 🔴

Any coupon books purchased at the old fare will still be accepted; however, customers will be required to pay the difference per trip. This applies to Senior Shared Ride, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and ADA customers.

~~~~~
Lebanon Transit aumentará las tarifas en ambas divisiones por primera vez en más de una docena de años. El cambio entrará en vigor el 1 de julio de 2026. Los aumentos tarifarios garantizarán que Lebanon Transit continúe brindando un transporte público seguro, confiable y eficiente de manera fiscalmente responsable y sostenible.
🔴 ¡Por favor, tome nota de esta actualización! La tarifa para personas mayores aumentará a $3.00 🔴
Se seguirán aceptando los talonarios de cupones adquiridos con la tarifa anterior; sin embargo, los usuarios deberán abonar la diferencia por cada viaje. Esto se aplica a los usuarios de los servicios de transporte compartido para personas mayores, personas con discapacidad (PWD) y servicios bajo la normativa ADA.
