Behind the Scenes | Patio Installation 🎥 🤳 The process of installing a patio is quite nuanced and layered. This video shows the stone process wayyyyy before pavers get installed. Once the hole is dug, we start filling with 2B stone. Then, we tamp to make sure it’s sloped correctly. On the Spring Equinox, nature provides the beautiful demonstration of balance when both day & night are of equal length. We savor this day of centeredness yet we look forward to the days becoming longer. Longer & warmer days mean the outdoor season is upon us. We're super excited for the 2024 season ahead. Stay tuned. ♡

The Main Act has arrived. 😀 The intention for this project was to clean up a problem area for our client and create a low maintenance, multi seasonal space. Inspired by the water that flows through this bed when it rains, we went for a “rock river” with Shenandoah River vibes. Many of the plants are native to areas surrounding the river including the grasses. The boulders and river stone are from the area also. We are truly happy with the outcome of this one. With plants 🌱 and flowers 🌸 set to bloom in all seasons, this peaceful area will not only offer privacy as it establishes in the future but also an element of ever changing color throughout the year. GHC went for “Natural Landscaping for Modern Times” on this project.
