"Early in my career I was employed as an engineer for a biomedical company and much of my work centered on regulatory compliance. An interest in that aspect of my position prompted me to pursue a law degree when my youngest son began school. One of my professors learned of my engineering background and urged me to consider a career in intellectual property law. Patent law practice requires a B.S. in math, science, or engineering and the thought of marrying these two fields seemed like the perfect career. I’ve been in private practice for 15 years now and I love the diversity of my job. I have the privilege of assisting inventors, artists, and small businesses throughout our community and it gives me great pleasure to help these clients structure their businesses and protect their creations and designs."
