A Long Way Off
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him…” — Luke 15:20
The prodigal son thought he knew what awaited him. Judgment. Disappointment. Rejection. After all, he had made a mess of everything.
But Jesus tells us something remarkable.
Before the son ever reached home, the father saw him. Which means the father had been watching. Waiting. Looking down the road. Hoping for his return.
What if that’s how God feels about you? What if He isn’t looking for a reason to reject you? What if He’s looking for your next step toward home?
Many people imagine God with folded arms. Jesus paints a Father with open eyes. A Father who never stopped watching. A Father who never stopped loving. A Father who never stopped hoping.
No matter how far you’ve wandered, you’re never beyond His sight.
Challenge Questions
Have I been viewing God through the lens of fear instead of grace?
What step toward God do I need to take today?
Prayer -“Father, thank You for never taking Your eyes off me. Even when I wander, You continue pursuing me. Help me trust Your heart and take another step toward You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Patient With Me
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… Instead he is patient with you.” — 2 Peter 3:9
Most of us think we’re patient until life gives us a reason not to be. A slow driver. A long line. A difficult conversation. A stubborn child. Patience gets tested quickly.
Yet God’s patience is unlike ours.
How many times has God warned us, directed us, corrected us, and protected us? And somehow we still find ways to do things our own way. Yet He doesn’t quit.
Moses doubted. Jacob deceived. David failed. Peter denied Jesus. And God remained patient through it all.
God’s patience doesn’t mean He approves of our wrong turns. It means His grace is greater than our failures. Like a GPS that keeps recalculating, God keeps calling us back toward Himself.
Today, don’t mistake God’s patience for weakness. His patience is evidence of His love.
Challenge Questions
Where have I experienced God’s patience in my life?
Is there an area where God keeps redirecting me?
Prayer - “Father, thank You for not giving up on me. Thank You for Your patience when I wander and Your grace when I fail. Help me respond to Your direction with obedience and trust. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Father’s Day may be over, but the truth we were reminded of is just as powerful today as it was yesterday.
Not everyone has the same story when it comes to fathers. Some stories are filled with gratitude. Some are filled with hurt. Most are a mixture of both.
But there is hope in knowing that God is everything we need Him to be.
When others leave, He stays. When others quit, He remains patient. When we run away, He runs toward us. And before He asks anything from us, He reminds us who we are.
We’re grateful for everyone who spent Father’s Day with us at Crossroads. Thank you for celebrating, worshiping, laughing, and growing with us. And remember: God is the Father you’ve always needed.

The Father Who Stays
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” — Psalm 27:10
One of the deepest needs in every human heart is the need for presence. More than gifts. More than achievements. More than success. We want to know that someone is there.
That’s why children look into the stands during a ballgame. It’s why graduates scan the crowd. It’s why people remember who showed up during difficult seasons. Presence communicates value.
The problem is that people leave. Sometimes physically. Sometimes emotionally. Sometimes relationally. And after enough disappointment, it’s easy to assume God will eventually leave too.
But Scripture tells a different story.
Adam ran from God, and God came looking for him. Jonah ran from God, and God pursued him. Peter failed Jesus, and Jesus restored him.
Again and again, God proves the same truth: People may leave, but God never leaves His position. His presence isn’t based on your performance. It is based on His character.
Today, whatever you’re facing, remember this: God knows where you are, sees what you’re carrying, and has not walked away. He is the Father who stays.
Challenge Questions
Where do I most need to remember God’s presence today?
Have I been measuring God’s love by my circumstances instead of His promises?
Prayer - “Father, thank You for being present in every season of my life. When I feel forgotten, remind me that You have not left me. Help me trust Your presence even when I cannot see what You are doing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Father’s Day at Crossroads was a reminder that no matter what your story is, there is a Father who never leaves, never quits, never stops pursuing, and never stops loving. Some came celebrating great dads. Some came missing their dads. Some came carrying wounds from a relationship that never was what it should have been.
But together we were reminded of a powerful truth: The Father you always needed is the Father God has always been.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, worshiped with us, laughed with us, and celebrated with us. And to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who continue showing up, loving well, and making a difference—thank you.
And yes… the float bar wasn’t too bad either. 😎🥤
Happy Father’s Day from your Crossroads family.
