Take it easy, we’re Ri.vals! We are a cosidol group dedicated to the stage! We aim to spread community and support for the idol community through hosting various idol events at Akaicon! We hope to bring to life all our favorite idol franchises through our performances! Please cheer us on!

moshimoshi * mousse is a kaigai idol boy group with three members: Levvy, Ronan, and Neon, based in the southern United States. Though they have a sweet image, they hope to show their complex flavor profiles through performance and aim to take you on a nostalgic journey through the y2k inspired Internet Cafe of their dreams.

FLARE is performance duo bringing you original music inspired by Japanese idol culture. Brought together by both darkness and light, Michael & Alex aim to bring high energy performances that showcase crowd interaction through wota calls & MIX. Michael & Alex created FLARE to push themselves to new heights and showcase idol culture in a way that they can only do together.

Be sure to come to the Kira Kira Idol Festival on Saturday to see all 3 of our special Idol groups perform, in addition to other performances and meet and greets throughout the weekend.

Sign-ups for the Charity Drag Show application is live!

The Charity Drag show will be held Saturday night at AkaiCon, June 27th, 2026.
This event is for amateurs and seasoned drag performers and is an 18+ event.
No experience as a drag performer is necessary and we welcome all forms of drag to perform!

The wait is over! Signups for our annual Lip Sync and Risque Cosplay Contests are open!

Please be advised that the Risque Cosplay Contest is and 18+ event. Our annual event will happen on Friday night.

**New for this year** We now have a Level Up Class in our Lip Sync event. Due to the overwhelming amount of talent you guys bring to the stage, we are taking steps to level the playing field for all. The Level Up class will allow those who have won previous Lip Sync competitions either at AkaiCon or other other conventions. (1st Place or Best in Show wins) This is a way to let you guys compete against each other. Lip Sync will be held on Sunday.

Creepy Pasta is the new Urban Legend. These stories of terror and dread spring from the minds of many talented people around the internet and are compiled into free to listen audiobooks by one specific voice. MrCreepyPasta, Horror Storytelling Podcast and Youtuber, is a well known voice for such famous horror stories such as Jeff the Killer, Tales from the Gas Station and Borrasca. He started 7 year ago and over that time has become a staple in the YouTube community and in the horror genre with over 1.2 Million Subscribers. Since then, he has moved into VA voice acting. MrCreepyPasta has produced 2 Creepy Pasta Collection Anthologies that have broken the top 50 Horror Anthologies on amazon and The CreepyPasta Comic Book.

AaronkGaines:

AaronkGaines is a cosplayer/actor from Middle Tennessee. After watching a YouTube video of a group of cosplayers, he decided to give his first convention a try in 2013; and thus, his cosplay journey began. As a kid, he always enjoyed playing pretend while dressing up as characters from his favorite shows, so cosplay became a comfortable adjustment. After graduating from college in 2019, with a Bachelor's in Theatre, the world quickly shut down due to Covid. In need of a creative outlet, Aaron turned to cosplay full-time. Whether it be working with EVA foam, 3D printing, or struggling to sew different pieces together, he loves to challenge himself in what he can create. Now, Aaron shares his love for his favorite characters and fandoms with many people across social media, as well as everyone he meets at cons. He believes the root of connection begins with connecting with our inner child and allowing ourselves to still play when the world is going mad. He thanks everyone who has been on this journey with him and has supported his dreams the whole way.

When Aaron is not cosplaying, he is pursuing his dream of being an actor and teaching workshops in both Cosplay and Stage Combat.
