Was t on my bingo card for the weekend but here we are. Trying to get a calf back on its feet. Girls have named him “Jack”. Been working his legs and holding him up to begin working on standing up on his own and stretch out his tendons.

Sure could use some rain. I usually bush hog this end of the year. Temp fence for the win.

Fertilizer day on the farm

Finally getting to cash in on that automatic gate opener I invested in so long ago.

51 rolls on 17 acres for the fall cutting. Now time to stockpile some grass for winter. should sponsor me and come shoot a commercial. Not bad for a 45hp tractor.

Side note. I have hay for sale.

Yesterday marked our 5 year anniversary of having our own cattle. We’ve come a long way since then. Opened the girls up to some fresh pastures and worked on the grade for our load out gate this weekend.

Snow days

Grazed down the first 2.5 acres. On to the next 5 acre section.

Turning them out in some fresh pastures before we have to start feeding hay. Channeling my inner Greg Judy.

Eventful week of fall hay. Didn’t get to cut on time. Johnson grass out of control. Finally bought a roller and began rolling our own hay. First field was 57 rolls on 8 acres. Second field took 3 days of much needed rain while in wind rows and ended up getting bushhogged. Tarped today and ready to head into winter with our best stand of grass and most hay to date and largest heard. Farms slowly coming together.
