W**d control is the toughest part about lawn care. This time of year is the perfect time to take action and do our best to control those pesky w**ds. Crabgrass is the w**d that is most talked about, but dandelions are pesky as well. The best way to handle dandelions is to hand pick them taking the two inches of taproot along with them. The best and easiest option is to use a post-emergence herbicide that doesn’t kill the grass.

With spring here it is time for us to get our lawns looking good! Here are a few tips to get ready for the summer:
1.) Rake your lawn. This helps get rid of the grass that has died from over the winter and reduces the amount of thatch layer that is prevalent.
2.) Use a fertilizer program for early spring use. Light fertilizing is recommended for the spring because over fertilizing can lead to disease and w**d problems.
3.) Preermegent Herbicides are another good option to combat pesky w**ds that are around all summer long. Herbicides are meant for w**d control prior to seeing the first signs of the w**d.
If this is not something you want to do on your own give me a call.
