The Garden State RCBA Spring Show is always a "must attend" for us - 4 Open shows plus a Specialty, excellent judging lineup, great location, well attended, superbly run, etc. It's always just a good weekend of friendly competition and fellowship (plus, we get to celebrate Daniel's birthday! 🎂🙂).

Last year, we were honored to win BOB Show C with Lilac Sr Doe, RGC JP's Tinkerbell under judge Daniel Barrett. Tink retired from showing after that weekend with 13 legs, top 10 finishes at both NDS and ARBA Convention, multiple BOV, BOSV, BOSB, and just that one BOB. Two weeks later, she kindled her first litter and has excelled as a brood doe ever since.

Out of said first litter, she produced JP's Miss Canada - a doe that we have loved from the start. MC doesn't boast the show earnings of her mother (several BOV, BOSV, and 4th Lilac Sr Doe at NDS '26) but I (Emily) still think I like her just a touch more than her momma (shhh, don't tell Trent😄).

This year, we were honored to win BOB Show C with Lilac Sr Doe, JP's Miss Canada under Judge Johnny Haussener. MC finished her weekend earning multiple senior legs, making her eligible for her Champion title as well.

We were further blessed to be awarded BOB and BOSB Show D with Gray Sr Doe JP's Yam and Gray Sr Buck JP's Barkley under Judge Donald Sheets.

Congrats to Sheila Wiltshire, Claire Burns, Mackenzie Kratzsch, and the Smith/Conklin gang for your wins as well!! It is for the love of our breed and the love of our fellow exhibitors that we get up and put in the work each day. The Dutch family is a special one, and we are honored and blessed to be just a small part of it!

And, as always, thank you to the amazing show coordinators and team, and to our esteemed judges. We appreciate you so very much!

PS - Karen Coombe & Rebecca Coombe - you were so missed this weekend! Can't wait to see you soon❤️

Either it's a cull...

What do you think, folks?!

We sent 3 Dutch to their new homes on the west coast, with a "small" layover in Indianapolis for the 2025 ARBA Convention - and results are (mostly) in:

JP's Limburger (Wiltshire's Bartson X Jill's Wild Queso Blanco) - 6th place Golden Yellow Sr Buck
JP's Yang (Vasko's V11 X Hilltop Dutch's April) - 2nd place Chinchilla Sr Buck
JP's Platinum (Vasko's V11 X CJ's Myst) - 1st place Chinchilla Jr Doe and BOSV

This is the first time we have exhibited the Chinchilla variety at a national level and are thrilled with how they did! A huge thank you to the breeders who have been so instrumental in helping us build these programs in our herd - we are so grateful to each of you!❤️

You Can't Beat the Dutch!

Another year, and another post-Grand Finals post. Grand Finals, or as I affectionately call it, NYSRBA, is always a starred date on the show calendar for us. Simply put, we love Grand Finals. Four shows over two days with great competition, awards, and judging. A new building at the NY State Fairgrounds in Syracuse did not dampen spirits. We were very fortunate to win some stacked classes, varieties, and even BOB/BOS over the weekend. Highlights and pics below. Thanks to everyone who made the show a great success!

Show A
Gray Junior Buck JP's Caper 1st of 6
Lilac Junior Doe JP's Miss Canada 1st of 6

Show B
Blue Sr Buck JP's Theodore BOV

Show C
Black Jr Doe JP's Partridge 1st of 5, BOSV
Blue Sr Doe JP's Zinnia BOSV, BOSB
Blue Jr Buck JP's Stevens BOV, BOB
Chocolate Jr Buck JP's Omicron BOV
Gray Jr Buck JP's Kane 1st of 6, BOV
Lilac Jr Doe JP's Miss Canada 1st of 6

Dutch Specialty
Blue Sr Doe JP's Charlotte BOV, BOB
Gray Jr Doe JP's Rosita 1st of 6, BOV

Congrats go out to Adam and Tanya Parker (BOB Blue Jr Doe in Show A), Karen Coombe (BOS Gray Sr Buck in Show A), Jean and Harold Smith and Katelyn Smith-Conklin (BOB Black Sr Buck in Show B), Sue Marks (BOS Tort Jr Doe in Show B), and Emily Ralph (BOS Blue Sr Buck in Dutch Specialty). We'd be nowhere without these great people who push us to be better rabbit breeders every day.

Is anyone from East PA headed to Westmoreland for the show this Saturday and able/willing to transport a single Dutch Sr Doe?

The 2025 Lebanon Area Fair rabbit show is in the books - and Dutch had a great showing with 8 of the 9 varieties being represented!
Congratulations to Aaron Martin on winning Best of Breed AND Best In Show with a stunning blue doe in Open yesterday.
Today in youth, the kids were honored to win Best of Breed and Best Opposite with a Golden Yellow Jr Buck and Chocolate Jr Doe respectively. Additionally, Augustus Gloop (GY Jr Buck) was chosen for Best In Show!
Congratulations to all the winners from both shows - all truly beautiful animals!!!
A HUGE thank you to our esteemed judges, Mary Ellen Stamets and Ally Rudy - as well as the entire rabbit committee - John Graybeal, Amber Wagner & Tyler Wagner, Vanessa Stickler, Nathan Graybeal (I apologize if I missed anyone) for truly making this a fantastic fair experience for both open and youth exhibitors alike.
We took the opportunity to snap a multi-generational photo - something I will cherish forever❤️
You Can't Beat the Dutch!!!

John Mock Family Rabbitry has the following cage units available (all three stacks):

18" x 24" (multiple units available)
24' x 24" (multiple units available)
30" x 30" (one unit available)

All units (again, all three-stackers) include trays and have been in use in our barn within the past month, but all need work. Some need more work than others. For this reason we are willing to make folks a pretty good deal.

DM if interested. Must pick up in Lebanon County, PA. No exceptions...we cannot deliver. Pics are representative and not of specific units individually.

Came into the barn this am to find two first-time dwarf does had killed 5 newborn kits (didn't even have a chance to foster), so made myself feel better by playing with previous spring litters. It was sort of succesful. No word yet on if trying to pose 5-10 week NDs will become a trial Olympic event.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

In Augusta NJ last weekend RGC JP's Tinkerbell (Lilac Sr Doe) finished her show career in style, winning BOV lilac in the Dutch specialty show Saturday morning to earn her 12th show leg and being named Best of Breed on Sunday morning under judge Daniel Barrett to earn her 13th and final show leg.

Lots of "records" were set here. First of all, this was our first ever breed win in the relative new lilac variety, and we couldn't be more proud. Second...Tinkerbell...this doe has been such a joy...in her 13 months of life she has accumulated 13 show legs, the most in our rabbitry's history for a Dutch of any variety. But never had she won breed. BOV, BOSV, BOSB, top five as both a junior (convention) and a senior (National Dutch Show) at the National level. But never a BOB. With a flair for the dramatic, Tinkerbell waited until the last show she was entered in to get it done.

As a reward, she'll become a brood doe for us. We may fill Tinkerbell's spot on show team, but we'll never replace her.

Thanks to Mackenzie Kratzsch and her amazing team for a great weekend and congrats to the other BOB/BOSB Dutch breeders (Sheila Wiltshire's Black Sr Doe, Blue Sr Buck, and Blue Sr Doe...the woman has so many hot rabbits right now it's tough to keep track; Jeff and Julie Brown's Black Sr Buck; Karen Coombe's Black Sr Buck, and Jean Smith and Family's Tort Sr Buck)
