The Ladle

No matter how much you plan life, you most certainly can not predict it. Sometimes we start to venture down a path laid before us thinking this is the one we are meant to travel only for it to end somewhere you were not expecting. It is with disappointment that I announce The Ladle will not be opening it’s doors and that it will continue to remain a dream that flourishes in my mind. I want to thank everyone for the excitement and support.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, The Ladle will not be able to participate in The Taste of Wilson County this evening.

Cooking up some good soup this morning. Can’t wait to share this Sardinian Minestrone with you. This one comes straight from one of the world’s Blue Zones (where the average lifespan is over 100 years old) and full of veggies including all colors of the rainbow!

Big stuff happening this week and over the next couple of days....

•Secured a spot at Taste of Wilson County! Come see me on October 24 at the Wilson County Expo Center! You’ll be able to taste test a couple of different soups and a couple breakfast items.

•Local artist is tidying up the logo and it should be revealed shortly!

•Making connections with local farmers and vendors.

•Interviews for head kitchen position will start soon.

• Preliminary floor plans being sent to the city for approval.

Who likes pancakes? One of my personal faves. The best things about these stacks is you can eat them guilt free. Made with just three ingredients, topped with fruit jam and vanilla yogurt, and served with fresh fruit.

They say the Earth continuously turns on its axis; but I believe on this day the world stood still. The Ladle remembers and we will never forget. We honor those who were in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 on this day eighteen years ago; we honor those brave men and women who raced into the devastation blinded by smoke and debris instead of away from it; we honor those who stood to fight; we honor those who were impacted and suffer an internal hell; we honor America. May you never forget.

The architect, contractor and I are working hard to finalize the floor plans so we can get construction underway. I am creating a comfortable, classy space that is appropriate from everything from a cup of coffee and dessert with friends to a professional business breakfast/lunch meeting with clients.
