Ice storms are beautiful—and unforgiving.

We don’t get ice storms like this very often in Middle Tennessee.
For a short while, everything slows down. Trees bend under a weight they weren’t meant to carry.
It’s beautiful—and it’s destructive.
I’ve been walking our property, taking photos, and thinking about what remains after a storm like this. I’m putting those thoughts into a short blog I’ll share this weekend—about ice, trees, loss, and what it can mean to give fallen wood a second life.
Storm damaged trees still have a story to tell. We recently milled some Eastern Red Cedar for Seven Cedars Farm. We took a cut offs from the knots and made the signs with clear epoxy. We just couldn’t let this go to waste.
