Since 1999, we have pulled dogs from city/county shelters, owner surrenders, and those found abandoned in Texas border cities. WHAT WE DO
After rescuing animals from participating shelters, Forgotten Friends:
-provides a health exam with a participating veterinarian, including heartworm testing,
-provides the rabies shot and yearly vaccinations,
-dental, heartworm treatment and any other care needed,
-has the animals spayed or neutered, and
-provides the animals with monthly heartworm medication. (Heartworm disease can be deadly, but is preventable if dogs are given once-a-month chewable heartworm pills.) They are then allowed time to adjust and become accustomed to a foster family environment (when one is available) before being adopted into their new home that is a good match for family and dog. http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/org41846.jsp
Meet Marley! Marley is a 5 year old Spaniel mix 🐶 with lots of pep 🌶️ in his step!🐾 He is equal parts active and affectionate, eager to run around and play then snuggle up for a nap. 🤗 Marley is a happy-go-lucky ☘️guy ready for his forever home!🏠

Gibson is looking for his forever family! He is most probably a Schnoodle and would do best in a home with a fenced yard so he can get lots of exercise. He is not good with cats or small animals but does well with most fur ladies after a formal introduction.

Diamond 💎 in the scruff ! Lucas came to us a scared, shutdown stray, but he’s making so much progress in his foster home.🏠 This guy is timid with new people and environments at first, but once he warms up he loves playing with toys 🎾 and other dogs🐶, and cuddling with his people. Once out of his shell, he is a sweet and social guy that just wants to be part of the pack.❤️🩹
