Our goal is to ice both teams this season, creating more opportunities for players to develop, compete, and represent Austin. If roster numbers require it, the teams may be combined into one Houston League team with full-ice practices.

Tryouts for the 2026–27 Austin Capitals season are officially underway! Time to hit the ice, compete, and earn your spot for the season ahead. Good luck to all the players chasing their goals and ready to leave it all on the ice. A special thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who are helping make this weekend run smoothly, and of course for the amazing photos!

Growing kids means growing gear… and hockey equipment isn’t cheap! That’s why we’re excited to host our Summer Gear Swap & Equipment Informational Meeting Series at Ice & Field.

Bring your gently used, clean equipment and trade up to the next size, or shop for affordable gear if you’re new to the game. New families can purchase equipment for just $10 per pair/piece.

We’ll also be hosting equipment information sessions covering:
✅ Proper gear fitting
✅ Skate sizing tips
✅ Equipment maintenance
✅ What to buy, when to buy, and how to save money

If you think your player may not be offered a spot on a travel team and want to play it safe, we highly recommend registering for Intercity now. Any dues paid toward Intercity will roll over to travel if needed.
