Here's a reminder as the Olympics kick off that you cannot use their branding or language to promote your own company and brand. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna162917
In this lawsuit, they're challenging the use of trademarked terms, but their guidelines also explicitly prohibit using other brand elements, as well.
The USOPC website explicitly mentions, "DO NOT: Create your own "version" of any USOPC trademarks. For example, the Olympic Symbol should not be simulated using pizzas, onion rings, tires, beverages, basketballs, snowflakes, triangles, smiley faces, fruits and vegetables, etc."

Visiting family in California and had client calls before everyone was up this morning, so I snuck out to Craft Work in downtown Healdsburg. Couldn't ask for a better commute past the vinyards and wineries along the way, and I love this coworking spot. Great workspace, coffee, wifi, and vibes. 🙌

After a whirlwind weekend in California, I got to spend this morning at DISCO in Austin, with a client who also happens to be one of my favorite people, 🤩. Just like old times, but new, as we watched the introduction and welcome for DISCO CEO Eric Friedrichsen following the announcement of his new role. Can't wait to see what this team can accomplish next.

The best thing to try if you want to make your marketing and communications more effective? 📣 Ask for the action you want people to take.
Every communication has a job to do. Yours should have a clear, strategic objective.
If you ask someone to read the info you share, think about what you want them to do when they're done. Then, tell them. In marketing, this is a “Call to Action,” or CTA.
You don’t have to ask for a sale every time. But you can use each opportunity to ask for an action, some type of engagement, or a result that achieves both your objective and theirs.

Business Leaders, what's top of mind for you right now?
I'm hosting our local Chamber of Commerce Women in Business group and loving our conversations.
This morning, we had women leaders from across industries: the non-profit space, coaching and wellness, event venues and commercial office design, branded merchandise, hospital systems, health insurance and virtual office administration, beverage sales and events, publishing and media, pet services, optical care, transportation, photography, and real estate.
I loved hearing the variety of experiences from everyone and I wasn't surprised to hear the common themes in our stories, challenges, and priorities.
The top 3 mentioned were:
➡️ Finding new business & selling more products and services
➡️ Marketing businesses more effectively
➡️ Improving and automating processes ..All while doing All. The. Things.
And still finding time for ourselves, our loved ones, and the things we care passionately about.
We talked about time management, delegating tasks, automation tools, reaching new audiences and customers, and creating great customer experiences. I can't wait to do it all again.

We know some people like to say, "Content is King." And sure, content is key to communicating with your audience.

Spotify Wrapped is one of the best examples of using customer data and communication for brand building. It's the only end-of-year vendor communication I look forward to, and it has nothing to do with special offers or discounts. Instead, it reinforces their brand assets and personality, rewards customer behavior, encourages word of mouth advertising, and offers opportunities to surprise and delight users. The artists' thank you videos are a nice touch. Well done, Spotify 👏
