⚖️ Protecting the Vote: Why the SAVE Act is a Threat to Privacy and Identity
At Lawyer in the Sky, we believe the right to vote should be accessible, secure, and—above all—safe. However, the proposed SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) introduces "proof of citizenship" requirements that do far more than just verify eligibility.
By mandating specific documentary proof of identity that matches birth certificates, this legislation creates a dangerous barrier for millions of Americans whose current legal names and identities don’t match their past.
A Targeted Erasure of Identity
While proponents argue the act is about election integrity, the practical application targets vulnerable communities, forcing them to choose between their right to vote and their personal safety.
* The LGBTQIA+ Community: Transgender and non-binary individuals who have gone through the legal process of name and gender marker changes face a terrifying ultimatum. The Act effectively forces individuals to "de-transition" on paper to match outdated records, threatening to forfeit their authentic identity just to cast a ballot.
* Survivors of Violence: For those in witness protection, survivors of domestic assault, or individuals escaping human trafficking, an alias isn't a luxury—it’s a lifeline. Forcing these individuals to surface sensitive, original documentation puts their physical safety at risk.
* The Adopted & Married: Millions of people (predominantly women) who have changed their names due to adoption or marriage may find themselves caught in a bureaucratic nightmare trying to produce a "perfect" paper trail that spans decades.
The Danger of Forced Outing
This isn't just about the polling booth. By forcing a reversal of legal identity markers, the government is essentially "marking" individuals.
Being forced to carry identification that contradicts your lived reality is more than an inconvenience; it is a tool of exposure. It ensures that every time a person shows a driver’s license or passport, they are "outed" to strangers, employers, or authorities.
Our Stance
The law should be a shield, not a weapon. We cannot allow voting requirements to become a mechanism for state-sponsored outing or a barrier that targets specific demographics based on their life history or identity.
The struggle for the vote has always been a struggle for dignity. We must ensure that the "protection" of our elections doesn't come at the cost of the people's safety.
In Texas, we already have to show our driver's license to vote and we are required to provide a valid Social Security number to hold a valid driver's license.
Why must we now confirm our driver's license to our birth certificate?
This has NOTHING to do with election integrity and everything to do with authoritarian control and suppression of human rights.

2030 ISN’T A DATE. IT’S A DIRECTION.
You’ve probably heard phrases like Agenda 2030, ESG, Digital ID, AI governance, and stakeholder capitalism.
They sound abstract — almost like policy jargon.
But these ideas are quietly shaping the systems that will affect how you work, travel, bank, borrow, vote, and even prove who you are online.
Let’s translate the buzzwords into plain English.
Agenda 2030
This is a global framework adopted by the United Nations with 17 goals aimed at improving life by the year 2030 — things like reducing poverty, improving health, protecting the environment, and strengthening institutions.
What it means for you:
Policies around energy, housing, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic development will increasingly be justified under the banner of “sustainability” and “global goals.”
Stakeholder Capitalism
Traditionally, companies answered primarily to shareholders.
This newer model argues businesses should consider employees, communities, the environment, and governments when making decisions.
What it means for you:
Corporate decisions may increasingly be guided by social and political priorities — not just profit. Supporters say this creates responsible businesses. Critics worry it lets unelected institutions influence economic life.
ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Scoring
This is a rating system investors and banks use to judge companies based on environmental impact, labor practices, and management behavior.
What it means for you:
ESG scores can influence where money flows. Companies with poor scores may struggle to get financing or investment. That means these ratings could affect your job, your employer, or even your retirement investments.
Digital Identity Systems
Governments and institutions are exploring secure digital IDs that enable people to verify their identity online.
What it means for you:
In theory, digital ID could make it easier to access services, banking, and travel.
But it also raises questions about privacy, surveillance, and who controls the data tied to your identity.
AI Governance
Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, so governments and organizations are creating rules for its use.
What it means for you:
AI will likely influence hiring, lending decisions, healthcare analysis, policing tools, and online content moderation. The rules that govern AI will shape the level of transparency and fairness in those systems.
Why this matters
None of these ideas is inherently good or bad.
But they all share one thing in common:
They reshape the rules of the system we all live inside.
Avoid black and white, either or thinking, because that is how they sort and divide us. Not that this new system will help or harm us, but it will do both, depending on how we implement and incorporate this new technology and what we will tolerate as a society.
I remember the days when your doctor cared and respected you. You would go into an examining room where he would examine you, then you would go into his office to discuss your health and proposed treatment. It was more respectful and dignified. You knew he cared because he spent time and often cared for your family members for generations. I would never have traded that for AI doctoring. However, after decades of whatever this is that we currently call healthcare — this profit-driven machine that cares not for true health — I am embracing an AI doctor who will collaborate with me, fully explain everything, and answer all my questions.
Perhaps I was boiled like a frog. It reminds me of the old childhood story of the man who complained that his house was too small, so the remedy was to make it so much worse that he would gladly accept the inevitable.
When systems change, citizens should ask three simple questions:
Who decides the rules?
Who benefits from them?
And what protections exist for individual rights?
Democracy doesn’t require blind trust.
It requires informed citizens who understand the systems shaping their lives.
That’s why learning about these ideas matters. With new technology, particularly AI and the phenomenal capacity of GPUs, we must all get involved and stay engaged.

All evil is done by those sequestered from history.
When you deny historical facts, it is like pulling the foundation out from under the people, for truth can only be found within the depths of facts.

America is worth protecting. Stand up. Speak out.
Do not allow anyone to tell you that America does not have a moral obligation to support freedom, liberty, and democracy around the world.
We do.
We took on that leadership mantle after WWII and have carried it proudly ever since. Just because a handful of wannabe dictators and oligarchs want to enrich themselves and escape taxes, does not mean we forfeit our role and neglect our duties.

Wow. I am so saddened by the fact that services have been turned off like a faucet on the elderly and most vulnerable without any warning.
We must get on the phones, out in the streets, and on social media to counteract the propaganda, denials, and gaslighting.
A friend of mine, Lawyer In The Sky, said we cannot wait for history to show us what is happening.
We must take action now to stop this destruction of humanity.
It is no longer just democracy at stake. This is our entire human dignity on the chopping block.
Our humanity has been thrown up on the carving board like a dying carcass!
