An exciting month for the WRITE project!
Earlier this month, we traveled to Alaska to meet with CTE teachers and other experts to review learning maps and create content.
This week, project leaders are back in Alaska to meet with the project advisory committee to discuss grant work progress, plan for future work and seek recommendations from committee members.
We're making great progress on a project that will reach 3,000+ students in 10 rural districts.

Our collaboration with WIDA is on track to generate 243 items for Advancing ALTELLA. WIDA reaches about 28,000 students annually with their alternate assessment for ELLs.

Kansas State Department of Education and The Achievement & Assessment Institute at KU have partnered for more than 40 years on assessment development.
In 2019, we took the lead on test development, program management, and psychometric services for KAP and KELPA.

Preliminary evidence shows that the SWIM system improves the writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities.
All of the participating pilot teachers said they would recommend the system to other teachers.
