Good morning! I want to let you all know that I am moving RITUAL at the end of June. I will be located in Orchard Corners off of Bob Billings near Kasold. Between the Mediterranean Cafe and The Scone Lady. My friend Jen made the leap over there early this month and has worked tirelessly to create a beautiful, welcoming and easily accessible space. I will be renting a room there with her. I have worked downtown for over 15 years and have loved every minute of it!!! I’m ready for something a little more central, a little quieter, and FREE PARKING...right up front. I will be sending out email updates as I have more information and and an exact move date. Meanwhile, I would like to let you know that my schedule has been filling up weeks in advance. There are very very few opportunities for last minute appointments. Good evening! This post is to inform you that my schedule is now online and open. There are many many changes being made at RITUAL. Please expect to receive an email from me within the next few days that will contain all of the new rules and regulations pertaining to future appointments. The number one at this point being that you will be expected to wear a mask AT ALL TIMES. Ear loops are a must. Please no tying around the neck or head. If you do not have one you will need to notify me far in advance of your appointment. I am looking to find disposable masks and also potentially handmade masks. Both will be provided for a fee. I’m looking forward to seeing you all! My schedule will be fairly limited as I will be adding 30 minutes to every single appointment to allow for sanitation time and to keep my exposure to other humans down as much as possible while still working. Hello friends, I wanted to share this visual that really helped me to more fully understand “social distancing”. I have been truly agonizing over whether or not to close the salon. What I’ve decided is to remain open for the time being. Social distancing, as I understand it, is a way to slow the spread of the virus by limiting our interactions with other humans, especially large groups so fewer of us are sick all at once and avoid flooding hospitals. My plan is to work this week as scheduled and starting next week go down to only three days a week, perhaps even two if there is no demand for my services. If I close the salon for two weeks starting now and then in two weeks the state demands the I shut down for two weeks...that would put me out of work for a month...at least (that would surely destroy me). So, my goal for now is to only interact “socially” at work. My job is social but luckily only 1 on 1 and in an environment that allows me to very thoroughly and rigorously clean to my hearts content. I won’t be going to restaurants or bars or large gatherings. I am committing to being at home as often as I possibly can. I use hospital grade disinfectant on every surface between clients. I disinfect chairs, chair handles, door k***s, my phone, my iPad. Literally everything. I use new capes and new towels on every guest. If I start to feel ill or discover that I have been in contact with somebody that is ill, I will commit to closing the salon and self quarantining. I am paying attention, I’m educating myself, I am committed to cleanliness and keeping myself, my guests, my family and my community safe. If things change for the worst, I will close down. If I am directed by the state to close down, I will do so. I am not taking this lightly and am not against doing what is necessary. In this moment, I believe seeing 15-25 people or so a week would be considered social distancing. I am open to questions, comments, advise, complaints, cancellations. I am here to learn and listen and evolve with the situation. But please be kind. Also, if y’all need anything for any reason please text me or reach out for help from somebody!
