Lawrence/KC area Enneagram peeps:
Join us this Wednesday for our monthly Lawrence Enneagram Group (LEG) gathering! Whether you're brand new to the Enneagram or have been sitting with it for years, there's a spot for you!
This month's topic is "Getting a Feel of the Enneagram," a hands-on exploration designed to help you sense the living energy of your type and catch a glimpse of what it feels like to move through the world as other types do. It's less about information and more about experience.
Danielsan Electric, 900 New Jersey St., Lawrence
Wednesday, June 17, 7:00-8:30 pm.

Early on, each of us created a sophisticated strategy designed to ensure our safety — how to manage, please, perform, withdraw, or control our way through a world that sometimes felt threatening.
The Enneagram calls these our defense mechanisms. Most of us discover that these patterns that once served us well, now keep us stuck in self-limited habits.
What would it mean to meet those defended places with curiosity instead of judgment?
Join me for “The Undefended Self: Enneagram Pathways to the True Self,” an online workshop hosted by St. Placid Priory. We’ll explore the nine Enneagram types and their distinct defenses, not just as a diagnostic exercise, but as an invitation into transformation grounded in grace.

In ‘tis season finale of Nine Lives is here, panelists Gerry Gebhart (5), Joy Wray (6), and Marnie Thomson (7) explore life from this Center of Intelligence. Three people. One center. A shared wrestling with fear, preparation, and the exhausting beauty of a mind that never quite rests.

"If I Don't Know, I Can't Prepare: Living in the Head Center"
There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes not from doing too much, but from thinking too much — and if you live in the Head Center of the Enneagram, you probably know exactly what that means.
In the season finale of Nine Lives, panelists Gerry Gebhart (Type 5), Joy Kay Wray (Type 6), and Marnie Thomson (Type 7) discuss the mental energy that flows for the Head Center types. We discover that the mind's constant activity isn't a quirk or a bad habit — it's a strategy. A way of trying to stay safe in a world that feels perpetually uncertain.
"If I don't know, I cannot prepare." "My mind is constant activity." This episode is for everyone who has ever tried to think their way to peace — and found that the mind, left to itself, doesn't quite know how to stop.

I had a great morning yesterday at the Professional Development Summit!
I presented "The Enneagram at Work" for a wonderful group of leaders, business owners and professionals, hosted by Square One Small Business Center — part of the Mid-Continent Public Library system in the greater Kansas City metro area.
We dove into how the Enneagram helps us understand our core motivations, our default patterns under stress, and how to lead and work from a place of greater wholeness.
Big thanks to Square One and MCPL for the invitation and for doing such meaningful work supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses. Check them out at mymcpl.org if you haven't already!
If you'd like to bring this kind of Enneagram-based workshop to your team or organization, reach out — I'd love to talk.

NEW EPISODE STREAMING:
"Centers of Intelligence: The Heart of the Matter"
What happens when you get a Two, a Three, and a Four in the same room and ask them to be honest?
William Robert Reed (Type 2), Leslie Quilico (Type 3), and George Patton (Type 4) form this panel of the Enneagram's Heart Center — three types shaped by the question every one of them has carried longer than they'd like to admit: Am I enough, just as I am?
Together they address the issues of performing, giving and giving, and longing for something just out of reach and not always knowing what it is. And about what starts to happen when you stop managing how you're seen and just... show up.
If you've ever felt like the role you were playing was more real than you were — this one's for you.

"Gut Check: Living from the Body's Intelligence"
What if your body already knows what your mind is still trying to figure out?
In this episode of Nine Lives, I gather panelists who share the same center of intelligence — the Body Center — but experience it in three very different ways.
Joanne Flowers (Type 8), Jack Killen (Type 9), and Trime Persinger (Type 1) pull back the curtain on what it's really like to lead from the gut: the instincts, the anger, the longing for integrity and peace, and the journey toward embodied wholeness.
If you've ever trusted a gut feeling, held your anger in until it had nowhere to go, or pushed through exhaustion because something deep in you said this matters — this episode is for you.
