Greetings VFW members and friends.
Its a good day to stay inside and watch a few basketball games. KU plays at 11.
Thank you to everyone that paid their annual dues for this new membership year. The $$ we get from these dues
help us promote many of the local programs we support.
We may not have a building to call our own but we have our charter and the will to carry out the VFW goals.
This year we had a good response for our school essay program, Vet assistances, flag donation and retirement program and there
more.
Next month we'll start working on our KU rotc recognition program to do the awards in May.
This Saturday is our district convention in Desoto and our post meeting is the 4th Monday of the month. If you would like to attend, message us for time and place.
Thanks you for all your continued support!

Every Memorial Day as we put flags on veterans graves in Memorial Park, we find a few veterans not on our lists, and we get approached by relatives of veterans who are not on our lists to have a flag placed on their grave. If you have a loved one who was a veteran or know of one who does not get a flag, please let me know. Send their name (as listed on their headstone so we find the correct one), and the section (Lakeview, Acacia, etc.) with the plot number to Commander Dave Sutheimer [email protected].

"When you go home, Tell them of us, and say, For your tomorrow, We gave our today."
- Kohima Epitaph
On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and dedication allowed us to enjoy the freedom and peace we hold dear. Let us reflect on their stories, cherish their legacy, and commit to building a future worthy of their sacrifice.
