A boutique-style clothing program that empowers low-income women by using clothing and image as tools
Not your average clothing program, Uncommon Threads empowers domestic violence survivors and women in need by using clothes and image to boost self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence. Clients are social worker referred and receive up to four complete outfits with the help of our "volunteer" stylists. All donations are tax deductible through our partnership with Family Services of The Merrimack Valley.

Your generosity has been incredible, and thanks to your support, we are currently at capacity. To make sure we can continue serving women with dignity while managing our space, we are pausing most clothing donations until September.
Right now, we are only accepting:

We have one urgent request: our shelves are nearly empty of women’s shoes in sizes 8, 8.5, 9, and 9.5, and we are also in great need of handbags. If you have new or gently worn items in these categories, your donation would make an immediate difference for the women we serve.

When everything is lost, even the smallest act of kindness can help someone begin again.
We’re incredibly grateful to our new partner, Hope and Comfort, for their generous donation of personal care products for the women we serve. Right now, we’re supporting more than 20 local fire victims with brand-new clothing and essential beauty and hygiene items—helping restore not just what was lost, but a sense of dignity, comfort, and hope during an unimaginably difficult time.
