What a fun night at The Replay! Yes, it was hotter than H-E-L-L, but we saw so many fans and friends. And we even won over some youngsters who danced and clapped and showered us with awesome compliments! Thanks so much to everyone.

Hey there, friends! We have a record coming out soon, and we got a great little write-up by Jack Rabid in his magazine, The Big Takeover. Here's Jack's review of our new record--Now! Is When.

Sometimes what you see—or what you’re told—is what you get. Lawrence, Kansas’ Shebangs come advertised as a co-ed garage group with punk/new wave updates, and if that’s a box you want to check, they’ll gladly check it for you. I.e., they’re not rarin’ to be as retro as ’80s and ‘90s revivalists such as The Cavegurls, Plan 9, Vipers, or Fuzztones, but like a more Nuggets-ized Bangs (early Bangles) and Pandoras, they offer a mix of proficiency and loose amateur charm. Songs such as “Love in Vain” (not Robert Johnson) and “Tightrope” could be covers of something once lapped up on Shindig! or Hullabaloo circa 1965-1966 in between The Standells or Music Machine. Yet with enough snot in their attitude (nobody’s pushing this gang around) and in their primitive rhythms, Now! Is When all over again—and it’s groovy. (fabcomrecords.com)
