I know that 2024 was a super hard year, for me included! It’s weird but the last few days have just felt…lighter. Anyone else?! I’m more of a word theme of the year to focus on rather than resolutions. This year I want to keep working on last year’s word and added a new one this year. So my words for 2025 are ALIGNMENT and CULTIVATE. Basically are my actions matching what I want in life, and that I want to create/accept opportunities that arise to move the needle a little further. This means looking at how I spend my time and making changes as necessary. What are some of your goals/resolutions/themes for this year?!

There are things they don’t prepare you for as a parent.

Lorelei (8): Mom, have you ever eaten a pigeon?
Me (very confused): no?
L: did you know that if you eat a pigeon, you use its foot to clean your teeth?
M: …
L: ….
Me: um, what?!

Cue her telling a giant story about a random person that I’m not convinced exists buying a live pigeon and shipping it to Hawaii where it was then killed, plucked, SHAVED (your guess is as good as mine) and then after being cooked and eaten, the man then used its severed foot with talons to pick his teeth. Her source? YouTube. Except she has YouTube kids on her tablet. I need a drink.
