The University of New Mexico Engineering Student Success Center staff brought dozens of high school students from the greater Albuquerque area to our site in June for an afternoon of low-apogee rocket launches and learning ✨

These students represent the future of the aerospace industry in New Mexico and we're proud to have hosted them to illustrate the opportunities that exist in our state 🚀

Students from throughout Doña Ana County visited Spaceport America in June as part of the AKC Aviation Camp, put on by New Mexico State Senator Bill Soules (District 37, Doña Ana), personnel from New Mexico State University, and the Soules Aero-Knowledge Center 🚀

The trip to spaceport during the week-long camp showed students some of the many aspects of aviation and aerospace careers.

"Can I go to space from New Mexico?" 🪐

Answering questions like that is easily the best part of our week. We recently spent a morning at Mesilla Park Community School in Las Cruces to help honor a massive milestone for their 50 Years of Learning Celebration!

We loved getting back in front of the classroom to show these students how they fit into the future of aerospace. Thank you to the staff and students for the warm welcome back. 🙌

Last week the Spaceport America team visited the fantastic 4th graders at Sonoma Elementary School in Las Cruces for a day of STEM outreach. We got to hang out with five different classes to showcase the science of spaceflight, explore material science, and demonstrate the fascinating effects of space on the human body through hands-on demos. 👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

Yesterday, we joined the Conlee Elementary College & Career Fair in Las Cruces to spark excitement for STEM! 🚀 The future of New Mexico's space corridor is looking bright with these curious minds. Great to share the floor with the Challenger Center and Las Cruces Fire Dept! 👩‍🚀👨‍🚒

The sky is just the beginning! 🚀 Big thanks to GEAR UP New Mexico for funding the Albuquerque Talent Development Academy student site visit to Spaceport America. 23 students and 10 chaperones spent the day exploring incredible STEM initiatives and aerospace career opportunities right here in our home state. 🌌

Runners from throughout the region took part in an out-of-this-world event last Saturday 🚀

In partnership with Wanderlust Running Unlimited, the second annual Space Race took place at Spaceport America on May 9, 2026. Hundreds of participants raced in 5k, 10k, and 15k races at our site in Sierra County.
