Mustang Rocketry's first trip to the Spaceport America Cup!
Last Friday Mustang Rocketry launched its first ever Spaceport America Cup entry. The flight was perfect on the way up, but issues with the separation system caused SDM-1 to crash hard into the desert floor. Here is footage of launch!

Last week Mustang Rocketry presented SDM-1 to the SMU community. Final preparations are being made this week for the SA Cup! Mustang Rocketry looks forward to competing this June.

Rocket Motor test success! Today Mustang Rocketry tested its L-Class, Student Researched and Designed rocket motor and it is now flight-ready for the SA Cup.

All machining for Mustang Rocketry's motor has been complete, with a planned test for February. Designs for air-frame and avionics components have passed a review as well, with manufacturing to begin in the Spring Semester
