Protecting Paws For Life

Visit Pinellas County Animal Services beginning, Monday, October 5, 2026, to pick up a spay or neuter voucher. To better serve you and reduce your waiting time, please arrive prior to 5 PM.

Vouchers are available to anyone receiving government benefits or with an annual income of $51,600 or less.

Please bring:

1. Proof of income (W2 or paystub) or
government assistance (EBT card, SSI, etc.)

2. Proof of Pinellas County residency (2 forms of proof):
Photo ID and Utility Bill

3. Pet Information: you can receive vouchers for up to 2 pets per household per year.

4. Veterans receive access to vouchers all year long and can be picked up at Veterans Services locations in St. Petersburg or Clearwater. Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

Once the voucher is issued, you will receive a list of participating veterinary clinics to call for an appointment.

This week, Protecting Paws for Life was proud to make deliveries to The Spring of Tampa Bay and CASA Pinellas, providing much-needed pet food, litter, bedding, treats, and other supplies.

These deliveries help domestic violence partner agencies care for the beloved pets of families going through difficult times, helping make it possible for people and their pets to stay together. ❤️

A HUGE thank-you to everyone who donated, shopped our wish lists, hosted donation boxes, or simply shared our posts. Every bag of food, can of litter, blanket, treat, and dollar makes a difference. 🐶🐱

Together, we’re making sure that when a family seeks safety, their pets don’t have to be left behind. 💜🐾

For many of us, Labor Day means cookouts, family gatherings, friends, and time together. But for survivors of domestic violence, holiday weekends can bring increased stress, conflict, alcohol use, and dangerous situations.

And pets are often caught in the middle. 💔🐶🐱

Pets can be used as a means of control, threatened, harmed, or left behind when survivors have nowhere safe to go with them. No one should have to choose between escaping abuse and protecting the pet they love.
