I wonder how long it will be before we start hearing, "papiere bitte" if someone doesn't stop Hi**er Jr.
It’s been a long time since I was in combat but I still dream about my experiences on a daily basis. The dreams never seem to fit the nightmare scenario. Some are funny and some are scary but for the most part, they don’t alarm me. I think I will tell you about a funny one and maybe latter I will write about others.
I was hovering above Dover AFB like a helicopter in nothing but my Fruit of The Loom shorts. I had a perfect view of the tarmac and I could see soldiers unloading a casket from a C-5 aircraft. The casket contained the body of an Army Officer killed in combat. It was draped with an American flag. Apparently, I was the body. I guess I did something stupid that got me killed. Then all of a sudden, I must have hovered two-thousand miles to my home town, Laredo, TX. Now I was hovering above my own funeral site, but still in my Fruit of The Loom shorts. People were gathered around and my family members were all present. Nothing was left out, there were bunches of flowers, some people were holding small American flags. I could see a military officer presenting some posthumous medals to my wife. That confirmed it, I did do something stupid. Soon the traditional 21-gun salute took place and a bugler played taps. I never could handle taps, not even at my own funeral. Maybe, the important lesson here, is that one should never go into combat without a clean pair of Fruit of The Loom shorts. Well, I’m still here. After all it was just a dream.
The Wonders of Video Conferencing
We had six participants on Fuze video conference. Texas Pictorial acted as the host. Except for the witness, the court reporter, the interpreter and the attorneys all stayed safe at their home office.
We downloaded all exhibits from Dropbox prior to the deposition. That allowed us to seamlessly introduce video, photo and text exhibits into the master recording by using four video feeds. Two laptops with screen share capability, one Elmo and the main recording camera worked together to produce a flawless product.
Holy Moley! No travel, no hotel stays and no exposure to covid-19. Depositions will never be the same, even after we are rid of Covid-19. I believe video conferencing is a trend that will continue to evolve and that more and more attorneys will soon discover the
wonders of video conferencing. I bet paralegals will just love that.
I would love to hear comments from my FB friends. What is going on with depositions in your area and how do you see the future of video conferencing?
The wonder of Video Conferencing
Covid -19 has dramatically changed the way we conduct depositions. This past week was an excellent example of that.

While I Can Still Remember
On this Memorial Day, I remember my brothers who courageously gave their lives.
To those who fought beside me and those who are still fighting, I admire your courage and appreciate your sacrifices.
I salute you, honor you, and thank you.
May all American patriots HONOR YOUR SACRIFICE
I borrowed some of these word, but this is the way I feel.
I was just sitting here and thinking about Resurrection day, commonly known as Easter Sunday by most of us. I think it is the most festive day on my calendar. The problem is that the date is always changing. One can just look at the calendar or one can look up to the sky. Easter Sunday occurs on the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. That is the first full moon that occurs after the vernal equinox, which falls on March 19 this year, but the Church recognizes March 21, as the vernal equinox. Therefore, the first full moon after that date is not until April 8, which means that Easter Sunday will be April 12, this year. That is too complicated. I think that I will just rely on my calendar.
To all my friends out there, I say good morning. I hope everyone has a great successful day. I have a plateful of depositions today, so I know, it will be a long day.
